It’s pithy. It’s succinct. It’s the theme from Law & Order: Los Angeles (airing Wednesdays at 10 PM ET on NBC).

I was holding out hope that the old, brilliant CI theme would resurface, but nope...
Is this going to be it every week? Don't we get a longer one with the pictures and names?
Though I like this little title card, it seems like something that would be a commercial break bumper, not a TV show intro.
And did anyone notice in the credits that Mike Post ISN'T doing the music for this show?
They ought to use the original 'CI' theme, as Anonymous suggested.
Is Mike Post really not scoring the new series? Shameful. Hopefully this simple title card intro is a temporary measure as this was the pilot - I'd like to see a full-length theme and credit sequence, with the traditional cast walk. In the very near future. I'm sure many other viewers will agree with me!
Im with you guys, the original CI theme would be great for this show. Nothing wrong with recycling the theme!
And yeah, I payed attention to the music credit, and Mike Post wasn't anywhere to be seen. Like gahks said, real shame.
At least we still get the CHUNG-CUNHG.
Do not want.
TBH the old CI theme should have never left CI. If they just HAD to use the TBJ theme for something, give it to SVU. Never liked that cheesy intro, but I guess it kinda fits.
I'm not really sure why they'd want to use any previous theme for LOLA. It should have its own.
But I do agree that what they came up with leaves quite a bit to be desired... sigh...
I have read in some comment threads on other sites that they will have a theme, title cards, and Zirk doing the intro soon, but geez, why they couldn't do that for this first one is beyond me.
I really like this. Its so ominous, and then Wolfs name looms out of the darkness....scary!
Giggle.
"Look out. Im still here" it seems to say!
also it suggests Dick Wolf, The Creaor-God!!!Hysteria setting in here I think!
I so love this, the paradox because its self deprecating and self aggrandizement;both. Brilliance!
oops. I meant to say "Creator -God" there"!
And Wolf said,"Let there be Light"!
Sorry,I keep playing this over but Ill stop now.I do think its a stroke of brilliance anyway, intentional or not...
Actually, the closing theme (which you can hear in its entirety if you view the episode on nbc.com) is longer and quite nice... and they list Mike Post as "Music Consultant" in the closing credits.
Oh, as far as the "pithy" opening, it seems like ll the NBC Universal shows are getting that treatment (on NBC, USA, Syfy, etc). The reason? More time for commercials.
I agree the opening credits should be longer, but at least they play the theme at the end. Personally, I think Criminal Intent's old theme was a little loud and too remixed. Law & Order Los Angeles is new, yet old, yet brilliant, and I like it.
