JOHN STAMOS TO GUEST STAR ON “LAW & ORDER: SPECIAL VICTIMS UNIT”

TERRENCE HOWARD, DIANE NEAL, LORI SINGER AND JEREMY IRONS ALSO TO MAKE GUEST APPEARANCES

New York, NY – March 4, 2011 – “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” will feature three star-studded episodes this spring with actor, producer and musician John Stamos, “Law & Order: Los Angeles” star Terrence Howard and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Lori Singer as guest stars. Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award-winning actor Jeremy Irons and series alum Diane Neal will also return to make a guest appearance in the upcoming episodes.

John Stamos will appear in the episode titled, “Bang,” as an adoption attorney with a secret passion. Stamos returns to NBC after his four-year tenure on the Emmy Award-winning drama “ER.” In addition to appearances on “Glee” and “Entourage,” John is most well known for his roles on “General Hospital” and “Full House.” Lori Singer will join Stamos in a rare television appearance, assuming the role of a new mother who is struggling with her increased responsibilities. Singer, who won a Golden Globe for “Shortcuts” and was nominated for an Indie Spirit Award for “Trouble in Mind,” is best known her performances in “Footloose,” “Falcon and the Snowman” and NBC’s “Fame.”

Terrence Howard will make his guest appearance in the episode “Reparations” as part of a crossover episode between “Law & Order: Los Angeles” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.” Howard is most well known for his performances in “Crash” and “Hustle & Flow,” the film which garnered him an Oscar nomination and a Critic’s Choice Award for Best Song. He will be joined by former series regular Diane Neal, who will reprise her role as A.D.A. Casey Novak for the first time since her departure from the show in 2008.

Jeremy Irons, who appeared as a guest star in an episode earlier this season, will reprise his role as Captain Jackson, a psychologist that worked with the SVU team. The episode titled, “Totem,” will showcase the first case in series history to feature a solo female perpetrator responsible for sodomizing and murdering her victim.

“Law & Order: SVU” is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Media Studios. Dick Wolf, Ted Kotcheff, Neal Baer and Peter Jankowski are executive producers.

Can't they at least wait until the following season to recycle a guest star?

They can keep recycling Jeremy Irons for ever as far as I'm concerned because he can act but Lori Singer ??? Footloose was like 25 years ago I would hardly call her a guest "star". I really would prefer they concentrate on a good story instead of guesting Mariska's bff's because those have all been weak.

What does Mariska have to do with Lori Singer? They are hardly friends.
And "Pursuit",that had her friend Debra Messing in it, is not considered weak. It was the best episode of the season so far.

Sounds cool, but I wish they'd stop putting on guest stars just because they're Mariska's friends...Debora Messing was excellent, though... - check out youtube site to see a promo for SVU 'bombshell' it looks VERY good.
