I'd not excited. I'm rolling my eyes and wishing those two would take their issues and go away.

I'm pretty sure that this trailer was pieced together to maximize the angstiness of Benson and Stabler's complicated relationship, esp. that hug!I'm guessing that one of the guest star meets with a terrible end, hence the display of emotion..lol.No spoilers,please..Looks like a good one. Neal Baer always keeps us guessing.I'm also puzzled why people continue to make negative comments about shows they don't enjoy on sites such as this..there's always the option of not watching the program in the first place ,instead of watching, then complaining about it..just saying...life is too short to deal with other people's negativity...

I think the negative comments come from viewers who are frustrated by what was once a really compelling drama that has really slipped in quality in the last several years. They have a great cast and it still could be a really good show if they had some decent writing and leadership. Still trying to play to the E/O crap after all this time is just pathetic.

The writers need to wake the hell up. Why are the palying the E/O card? Mariska doesn't want Olivia to have a relationship or one night stand with Elliot. Please, please get back to real police drama. I love Mariska's character, Olivia, and I love how she portray's the character. Lately, I don't like what they (they writers) have done to Olivia in recent years. She use to be this straight forward, tough, kiss a@@ cop. Now she's become this vurnable, too involved with her cases, Livy needs a family cop.... Bring back Dective Olivia Benson and real Special Victim cases.

Okay I respect peoples opinions and I'm not trying to put anyone's opinion down but I do not agree with the comments......here's what I think.......Olivia is not getting soft and has never been soft!!!!!She's human, emotions are bound to flow because duhhh she works in special victims unit....she has no family of her own....just think how you would feel if u worked in this unit with her background.......I love what the writers are doing as far as dealing with there personal lives....I would love to see more E/O moments!!!!!!!Olivia and Elliot make the show and there chemistry is beyond wonderful!!!!!!If they were not on this show I would not watch at all.....I love the rest of the cast but mariska and chris are the "bar raisers"!!!!Without them svu would not be worth watching......mariska is great has Olivia and Chris is great has Elliot......Every case in the show is good!!!!!However,,iam very tierd of seeing Olivia alone!!!!!They need to give her something!!!!Iam looking foward to seeing episode!!!!!I hope fin doesn't die because that would be tradgic but iam very much looking foward to this huge hug!!!!!!

I totally agree with the last comment. SVU remains large and Elliot and Olivia too. What is the problem of showing an embrace between Elliot and Olivia? They are human beings endowed with sentimentos.Gostaria der see even more emotional moments involving the characters. They are not machines.

Oh no, not Neal Baer and his hype machine again. I smell a jump the shark moment!

Nothing that EO fans want will happen. This is another one of Neil Baer's ploys to get ratings up.
Olivia and Alicia Harding will be out working on the case. Harding will be killed but Elliot only hears that someone is shot. Olivia will be upset because Harding died in front of her. Elliot will be happy his partner isn’t dead. Nothing will change because Elliot isn’t interested in Olivia as anything other than his partner. Even Olivia has finally figured that out.

The last comment is probably right except for the part where Elliot is not into Olivia....yes he is!!!!!I didn't think so either but if u remember the episode "fault"Elliot expressed that he didn't wanna lose her and that was unexpected.............totally!!!!!(well it was for me.lol)you might be right but I will always keep my E/O hope alive......this episode might lead to something more....you never can be sure with liv and el.......

Ok, to all of you who think there are no feelings deeper than friendship between these two, you are completely wrong!!! It is obvious that they love each other!!! They always have and they always will!!!!! An embrace every now and then does not mean SVU is "jumping the shark." It doesn't mean Liv and El will ever get together, (although I will never ever give up hope)so stop judging this episode that you haven't even seen yet because of one short clip! I, for one am EXTREMELY excited about this ep and am counting down the minutes until it airs!!!!

I hate this show since it's ALWAYS about Benson and Stabler.

How about Munch, Fin, or Warner lives? is Fin in the dating game? Warner still married? Munch's ex still (crazy) paranoid?

I'm tired of seeing Stabler family drama, and Benson on the single's scene with crappy dudes. and it appears the writers WANT Benson and Stabler to be more than friends/partners. You can tell by the way they write the episodes, esp. the 'undercover' or 'aliased' episodes involving those two!

And how come we have an ADA in the role and she's not on the cast - or in every episode in a full capacity? I think Melissa Sagemiller would/could be the next ADA Cabot if the writers would go back to the courtrooms and kick up the DA's office drama again!

We rarely (or at all) have seen Jack McCoy's opinion on various types of sex offendors. Where is the Waterston guest appearances.

Neal Baer is a liar and a failure as a show runner (in recent years) - he lies when he says they've run out of ideas for the show, obviously trying to pair El and Liv is the last resort; or to tick off fans of the stories and of EO; if you ask me ALL SVU fans are getting "screwed" (another SVU episode that SUCKED, especially for a season finale)!

Plus Neal has said not to expect a farewell episode from him. I smell a rat (Neal Baer and his Twitter lies).

I've had it with SVU, I've been a dedicated fan for years and I still have yet to see SVU 'change' from these crappy storylines!

I just wonder how Baer managed to that sh*t to SVU after seasons 6 & 7! You'd think he'd know most fans think the 'new' episodes suck.

I hate Stabler family drama especially!

Get new writers with some fresh ideas. The actors are very good if they are given some decent material. No more leftover kids for Olivia. I hate how they are trying to stick her with a kid! There is no E/O and never has been and I think they have made that quite clear with never having anything happen between them. He's married with five kids for gods sakes and only cares about her as his partner. Wouldn't he have done something when he was separated if he was ever interested in her.? Instead when he had the chance he made a move on Dani and apparently a few others off camera. He thinks she doesn't have any luck with guys.

I SMELL JUMP THE SHARK

Neal needs to stop pandering to E/O shippers and give us some intelligent, quality drama like 'SVU' used to. That's how to fix the show! I swear, he could learn a thing or two from Rene Balcer.

To gahks, how is Neal Baer pandering to EO shippers!? We haven't gotten like ANY EO all season!!!! And one hug does not mean a jump the shark moment. Liv and El are human beings not some mechanical perp busting machine! They have feelings and emotions too!!! So to everyone who thinks a little embrace between them is wrong, go to hell!!! Because obviously you can't understand that "friends" hug too!!!

As a faithful viewer of SVU,I have to agree heartily with a few points already made.If El had been interested in Liv romantically, he would have made a move on her when separated from K. that time.Instead he went after Dani, that backfired, and other women, too. I think he loves Liv as his partner deeply, he's concerned for her well-being.I get that really a lot of pple are E/O shippers- to each her own- but I never actually see them ending up together.Even MH has commented that she'd love to see Liv with a family, leaving the police force in order to do so.I think and see that MH and Cm have tremendous chemistry between them that clearly spills onto the screen,as it should, or the show would not have lasted this long.I really feel that they play up the chemistry- esp. MH!Not a bad thing, keeps the ratings up, the E/O speculation present and keeps them and many other fine folks employed. If I were an E/O shipper, I;d be very pissed by the constant teases that Neal Baer manufactures,to maintain this rabid interest in something that may never happen.I'll be curious what tone their relationship takes on once Neal Baer finishes his run w/ SVU this season. It used to be a really well-crafted police drama. Oh how I long for those days..lol

@ claro

I disagree. In almost every episode we've seen Fin. Munch did not, but it seems that, for health reasons. Since the first season of this show was always centered on Elliot and Olivia.
Only in one episode this season, had the Elliot family involved. The drama of Olivia with Calvin involved a rape case. So it was not free. And, honestly, if the drama centered on more Munch and Fin I would have given up. I'm much Elliot and Olivia, who is talented and beautiful.
Another thing: what is the problem of a simple hug between Olivia and Elliot?

i happen to love all the E/O moments and would love for more elliot needs to get rid of kathy and get with olivia olivias elliots stability his rock and they need to get together so screw all the people who write rude and nasty comments about E/O cause they are what makes the show and gets all the ratings okay now have you ever heard the saying if you dont have anything nice to say dont say it well that applies here

Elliot does not need or want to get with Olivia. He loves Kathy as we saw on Grey this season. That's where he wants to be. Elliot was miserable when Kathy left and wasn't happy again until he went home again. He was so depressed that he was suicidal. Dr. Hendricks saw that within 5 minutes but Olivia missed it completely. Even when Elliot was ready to let Gitano kill him in the warehouse in Fault, she still missed it. His family is the rock that gives Elliot his stability, not Olivia.
But you are right that teasing EO shippers with the possibility that something might happen between Elliot and Olivia is what keeps those viewers watching. But it is one of the things that has driven millions of viewers away who don't want any part of that going on. Forcing EO moments into the scripts loses valuable time to tell the real stories that SVU used to tell so well. It's not the only problem but it is a big one. Hopefully it is a problem that will leave with Neil Baer.

Very well said Anonymous above. Elliot never wanted to get with Olivia he has always been loyal to his wife and his family has been everything to him. He cares for Olivia but not in a romantic way more like a big brother. I have never appreciated the way Baer tried to twist the EO viewers into believing there was something there. Too soap-opera ish and definitely damaged the show over the years

Elliot loves his family and would do any and every thing to keep them. He also loves Olivia, because she's his partner and has been for a very long time. There's nothing sexual about their love for one another. To be honest I like Olivia and Fin's friendship better than this E/O mess they're shoving down our throat. I'm a big SVU fan and I like all the characters but lets face it. Elliot isn't leaving his family for Olivia because he knows her better than she knows herself. In "PC" Olivia asked Elliot, if he got a gay vibe from her. He responded with, "Does it matter if I did?" I'd love to see Olivia with a husband and kids but that's not going to happen. Mariska is in denial about her character. Olivia's a lesbian...I mean, I don't have anything against gays and lesbians. If that's who Olivia is, just write it in the script and stop all this E/O mess.
