When detectives Cyrus Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) and Kevin Bernard (Anthony Anderson) come upon the burning body of Cesar (guest star Noel Rodriguez), a sixteen-year-old charter school student from a bad neighborhood, they begin to question his young mentee Moses (guest star Aaron Shaw), who was the last person to see him alive. The investigation leads the detectives to the high school principal, Mrs. Woodside (guest star Debra Winger), who has all of the right answers. With a shady educator, tampered alibis and jealous schoolboys all coming into play, the detectives discover that their case may be more than elementary. Also starring: S. I am soooo pissed off at nbc. The picture was messed up & the sound kept going in & out in the middle of the show. I didn't find out what happened during the climax. Whomever was watching "boy on fire " episode, please inform me what happened once Able was talking to the principle at the precinct.

I found this episode most disturbing. Private for-profit charter schools were painted as the good guys; public schools, teachers and state standards/state education law were painted as evil and corrupt driving a school principal to bad judgment resulting in a horrific homicide and rape. There ARE problems in many of our public schools - particularly in poverty-stricken inner cities. BUT - there are problems with for-profit charter schools too. Fixing our educational system is a complex process and a program such as this one leads an uninformed public to assume there are quick fixes. Destroying our system of free public education is not the answer.

i liked the episode alot and yes not only the public schools have problems. But the whole story behind the episode was very good. It made alot of sense. And for evryone who keeps on bashing the episode(im not saying names) needs to keep quiet. Just because you dont think it was right for them to bash public schools, its a show. Get over it. It was one episode and big deal. Yes charter schools might have problems but haven't you noticed that the public schools have more problems. And stop bashing the episode my cousin was in or i will bash you ok.
