Law & Order and SVU New Episode Order Confirmed

During the TCA press tour earlier in January, an NBC representative mentioned that the episode order for Law & Order would be increased by four episodes NBC has now made an official announcement, confirming that the total number of episodes for "Law & Order" will be 23 (three added instead of the 4 they originally reported). In addition, the number of episodes for Law & Order SVU will now be at 24 (two were added).

I am sure fans will appreciate any new episodes added to the schedule!

All Things, have you figured out L&O's pre-Olympics schedule? Will any new eps air? I know originally this week and next were supposed to be new, but the Haiti fundraiser is now this Friday, and from what I've seen, next Friday's (Jan. 29) ep is a rerun. Are they just waiting until March 1 to air any new eps?

If you posted this already, and I missed it, sorry. Just wanted to be sure I didn't miss any.

Btw, great news about the added eps for the Mothership!

Shelly, right now as it stands, NBC has no new episodes slated to air before the Olympics for Law & Order. "Steel Eyed Death" and Boy On Fire" were the only two in the pipeline, and those have been yanked and tentatively set to air on 3/1 as a doubleheader (still waiting to see the official word from NBC on that last point).

Right now as of this writing, SVU still has "Confidential" set to air on Feb.3 so I hope that still holds.

Yeah, I've been confused about the two Mothership episodes, as well.

Thanks for clarifying the matter. Or, clarifying enough, anyway.

Is LOCI moving back to NBC on hiatus until September with a season of 22 episodes?

There has been no mention of Law & Order Criminal Intent airing on NBC at this time.

I read that on Wikipedia. And then shortly after someone removed it and then an official fan poll was created.

If it's on Wikipedia, then it's probably true. Only a terrorist would post false information or rumors on Wikipedia without a source.

Just an update - SVU Confidential" has now been yanked from the Feb 3 air date, will probably air after the Olympics.

All Things, thanks for the update. With the latest announcement re Confidential, it sounds like NBC is just content to start "fresh" after the Olympics. It'll be interesting to see what kind of promos they air during the Olympics for their revised 10 p.m. programming... maybe some sort of mea culpa and a "please please please" come back and watch... lol...

But seriously though, how well does everyone think the new schedule will benefit the Mothership and SVU? Will people come back to the 10 p.m. time slots or do you guys think people have found alternatives for 10 p.m., whether on the other "over the air" networks, or on USA, TNT, etal? I know it hasn't been that long, but people tend to be creatures of habit... at the very least, they're not used to getting their 10 p.m. drama fix from NBC the past few months...

L&O was already losing the battle with CSI NY when they went head to head in the past - I think SVU can do a little better in that slot maybe but CSI NY has tons of momentum already.

As far as Jack McCoy vs Horatio Caine on Monday nights, sadly to say, I think the masses need their dose of cheese with CSI Miami, but I am hoping that saner minds will gravitate to Law & Order. Either way, both shows will have an uphill battle going head to head with the CSi franchise.
