I love this season! It's way better than season 3. However, out of this season, I prefer so far the story/case presented in "Deliver Us from Evil" and "End of Innocence."
I hope the next episode is (somewhat) a return to the Albanian arc (from season 2) since it seems like Rita Lasku is returning, per the promo.
It was a good episode - I hoped though, that the Stablers' father storyline from season 2 (how he faked a shooting) was brought up/added to this season's storyline of him as a reminder/sense of what a person he truly was.
Also, hopefully Bell survives! She's my second favorite character of this show (after Stabler).
I'm not interested in the Stabler family. This episode bored me. In my opinion, the more they focus on his family the more I believe they don't have a good criminal story to tell. The organized crime plot was thinner than tissue paper.
Taking Chris Meloni out of the picture in this show, would anyone watch it? I don't think so. I wonder if this will make another season. Remember this was going to be a short season for OC even before the strike, this season doesn't inspire confidence there will be another.
Loved this episode. Best one yet in the series, IMO. The general weakness of organized crime shows is the sameness of the hardened criminal characters; this episode provided for two rich variations in two families, each unique. I hope we see more of this kind of plotting. And.... can Ellen Burstyn do anything wrong, ever?
This episode was awesome!! Haven't been a big fan of OC in the past but season 4 has me hooked! Everything in this ep was so intense from the action sequences to the suspense and drama parts of the story. That family dinner was smthg else! I was stressed out but in a good way :) I liked the juxtaposition of the Stabler family dinner w the one of the family entangled w Los Santos. Two families on opposite sides of the law but both reeling from dysfunction and hostility within the family. Another great ep in a row. Season 4 OC is FIRE!!
@pwagner Now reading your comment and I agree. I think they are figuring out how to keep things interesting. I liked the involvement of Stabler's family in this ep and I've never cared much for it in the past tbh. You make a good pt abt the "sameness" of the criminals. I guess by the very fact of being "organized" certain elements of these cases will feel sort of 'standardized' so def a challenge for the writers to know that and still keep momentum. So far they've been achieving this in season 4. Interestingly Chicago PDs story this week was about a wife trying to get out of her life w a drug lord. Similar themes to this OC ep but approached very differently. I won't say one was better than the other but OC had a much faster pace (without getting me lost) and the story was way more intense. The stakes felt high even in 'minor' moments. Ex: the scene w the girl baiting Jet for info while Jet does her makeup- intense! And somewhat creepy too Really a good episode

@SH - I'm one of those people who isn't interested in the Stabler family. I have a tendency to mentally tune out in those episodes. This one was Stabler family overkill for me so it wasn't very interesting to me!
Hi Chris Zimmer, again, - Do you prefer this season of OC over the last one? Although both seasons offer the same storyline format (~2 episodes), I prefer it over season 3, in my opinion. I believe this season has better stories.
@SH - last season was a bit of a mess, so I suppose this season is better. But not by much. I preferred the earlier seasons where the cases/story arc ran over several episodes and there was more opportunity for the characters - including the criminals - to develop!
I agree with you. I prefer the longer arcs. But, after the chaotic season 3, I do view season 4 as a breath of fresh air, although the ~2-episode storylines are still remaining.
I hope if/when season 5 arrives, they'll have longer story arcs with the same showrunner.
