I'm sad this got canceled and even MORE sad that they canceled the mothership and gave us LOLA instead. Had they stuck with the mothership, ratings would have been much better AND L&O would have gone on for season 22.

I blame NBC for axing L&O but not for the failure of LOLA. LOLA didn't have the right cast to start with (Skeet was drab and the two female DDAs were boring, Terrence Howard can't emote properly for this role) so the show was DOA right out of the chute. Whoever casted this made a huge error.

Terrence was much better in the second half. It was up to par with the Mothership. NBC originally was going to give us both the original and LOLA from the start. But Jeff Zucker is an idiot. There's a very small rumor going around started by tvbythenumbers that the mothership could come back for another season. How likely is that? I don't know. But I am hoping.

Yeah I think NBC's all too aware of how much they screwed the pooch here. My guess is they bring the mothership back for one more reason in attempt to make some kind of amends (might be wishful thinking though).

Or, they might go ahead and cancel SVU and detach themselves from L&O completely.

Well at least NBC's still smart enough to realize that SVU is the network's best scripted show. I don't think they're prepared to cancel it just yet. Not just that, but sadly more people would protest about SVU being cancelled over any of the other L&O shows...

I hope they bring back the mothership with Lupo, Bernard, Cutter, Rubirosa, McCoy and New York City.

If they bring back the mothership and put it on Wednesdays I think it would get a lot more views.

For me, the mothership was finally getting better in terms of cast chemistry and writing, it was a big mistake to cancel it and replace it with LOLA and then reboot LOLA to be like LONY (mothership) when it should have been LONY this whole time.

I never had any issue with the creating of LOLA, it was the horrible decision to cancel the mothership. Then, they screwed with LOLA in 2011 just like they did with the original in 2010 -- they moved it off a night it was doing well, almost like they WANTED IT to die. Mondays is death for NBC.

This news is not good. I hope by some fluke it stays or it goes to USA. But that could just be wishful thinking. I loved the show.

I agree with andie above, if the put the mothership before or after SVU, both shows would get TONS of views. I hope they'll bring back the mothership, I really miss McCoy and his oneliners *sniff*

Are they on drugs? What is this thing NBC has with moving L&O shows around from night to night, and then wondering why ratings are poor? I could never figure out what night the mothership was on, so of course I missed it all the time. Sounds like LOLA is suffering the same fate for some of the same stupid reasons.

The networks are tired of losing money. That's why we're inundated with all those silly reality tv shows.Expect more of them.

I don't see the mothership being resurrected.
The best thing Wolf could do would be to keep CI on the air, bring it back with Goren and Eames and add the DA position back to the show.

But I am afraid we'll see L and O Miami get revved up in the offseason.

Canceled just when LOLA was really starting to pick up steam. The show has really improved and the story lines were getting really good.
NBC killed L&O and now they are killing LOLA. Eventually there will be no L&O on NBC at all. NBC is starting to be the network I watch least. Thank God for repeats on TNT and USA.

Everyone is acting like this was a good show all of a sudden when many of you were complaining weeks ago. It was a bad show with horrible writing and the ratings reflected that. It doesn't matter what night a show is placed on...if it's good, it will draw the crowds. LOLA wasn't and didn't.

Let it go.

I never even watched this, I still couldn't get my head around L&O being cancelled so I couldn't bring myself to watch it. If they could bring the original (and best) back that would just be a dream come true, but dare I dream for too much as having Criminal Intent back has been so wonderful :)

@Sirius - That is far from true. First, if I personally have complained, that was only before the show was pulled for the retooling. Not after. Since then, I've been praising the show. And second, not everyone knows of these time shifts. Typically it's a terrible idea for networks to play with a show's timeslot, unless there is a good reason for it, or if they think it can do good on a different time/day. Law & Order (the original) suffered a lot because of this, with the whole Leno fiasco. They kept moving the time of the mothership. A lot of people didn't know what day it was airing. Another couple of quick notes. The ratings when LOLA first started in the fall was pretty good. The numbers reflected that. The show didn't start to decline in ratings UNTIL it was moved to Monday night. NBC should know that putting a spinoff show on its own instead of after SVU would bear bad news for it. Having a good lead in is as important as determining what time slot to put a show on. Monday has The Event, followed by Chuck, both shows have been doing (for a lack of a better word) shitty this whole season, The Event in particular. That show has been declining since it first aired. Now, CBS has it right. They have on Tuesday NCIS, the parent show of NCIS: Los Angeles. You don't see NCIS: LA on a separate night do you? And they have pretty decent ratings, since you seem to know about how the number system works, so you can agree with me on that. So, if you put a spinoff show on its own, you can expect for it to do poorly. Typically, a fan of one show (within a franchise) tends to be a fan of another show (or all of them in some cases), and they are more inclined to watch two hours of it, instead of one hour one night, and another hour on a separate night. Finally, wrapping up my main point, giving LOLA a piss poor lead in doesn't do any good at all. Majority of people AGREE that the show is much better now, after the change up, than it was before. And there's nothing wrong about the writing at all...

NBC lost me as a fan when they cancelled the Mothership. How can you continue any L&O without the original in some form. Even if it's moved to TNT or USA. It's pathetic. And I haven't watched any NBC programming since the Conan thing. I may catch some LOLA online at some point but there was just nothing about this show that interested me. L&O had everything set up and good characters ready to go. NBC was stupid for getting rid of a it.

SVU hasn't been watchable for years. I don't see why it's still on. None of the characters are likable anymore. And haven't been for 5 years.

I'm trying to catch CI, and it's a good show, but it's in it's last season anyway.

The best L&O show is in Britain right now. That's a damn shame.

Oh trust me, NBC lost the same respect from me after what happened to Leno. The network has suffered ever since Zucker took over the network. I had high hopes for NBC this season, when LOLA came on. This new regime was not responsible for the fiasco, or for the Mothership's cancellation, so I felt it was unfair to hold that against them. Yet, I think NBC is still struggling from Zucker, it's certainly not doing any better. If NBC cared about L&O, they wouldn't have pulled it from Wednesday to air on Monday. They will ALWAYS finish last. Even with this new programming, none of it will be enough to save them from their own demise. NBC, TNT, USA owe EVERYTHING to Dick Wolf. I've said it once, and I will say it again. They've treated him like shit over the past few years. I'm done with NBC, and so should Wolf in all honesty.

I made a mistake in my first sentence. I meant to say what happened to Conan, not Leno. ^_^'

NickZepp don't be so quick to dismiss CI. With the ratings it continues to have and the type of season they are having so far, there is a chance a good one at that, this may not be the end of the line for our dynamic duo. Thank goodness.

So what happens when the network makes the announcement that the show is cancelled and then the remaining episodes gain ratings? On the chance this happens I hope NBC reconsiders keeping LOLA. I am not thrilled at what is supposed to be in LOLAs spot in the fall. Very appalled.

I too am angry with NBC for canning the L&O mothership. It was a bad call from the beginning. Plus, I can see Megan Boone being let go. I think Kelly Stables would have worked better with Terrence Howard. Skeet Ulrich and Regina Hall brought something to the table. Regina was a bit tougher than Megan, and somebody like "Sue Thomas F.B.Eye" alumnus Rick Peters or Ted Atherton could've worked with her. Plus, Alfred Molina could have returned to the badge with a different partner. Skeet and Corey Stoll gelled great to me. Rachel Ticotin made for a better Gonzalez, and Wanda De Jesus, the original could have worked better in a Miami chapter of L&O.
