The press conference at the end of this episode made absolutely no sense. It basically tells the perpertrator that you're on to him. This could actually make him get rid of the girl and go into hiding if he hasn't already. Up till then there's every reason to think that he thought he got away without leaving any trail. The police should announce they found a jane doe in the motel and nothing else. It's asinine to put the girl in danger like that.
