Warren Leight has been named as executive producer and showrunner of Law & Order SVU, replacing Neal Baer, who is moving on to CBS Television Studios. Leight is no stranger to the Law & Order brand, having worked on Law & Order Criminal Intent for six years, the last two as executive producer.

This. Is. Excellent. News. xD
A VERY interesting choice!
thank you thank you Dick that he's not going back to LOCI...he nearly killed a great show.
Let's hope he doesn't do the same to 'SVU'...
Oh my god, this is brilliant news.Bless you Wolf. I guess they must have settled their differences and agreed to differ for the good of The Good!!!
Please give him the creative freedom to interpret. He is the best troubleshooting showrunner in town, though he doesnt shoot from the hip! He was brought in to save Season 2 In Treatment, and to save the Lights Out pilot. He saved LOCI too and brought up its ratings.
He will be controversial and that is lifeblood to any series. He also has credibility with the critics.
Is Balcer still running LOLA? Thats amazing , to see the two of them in tandem. And a chance for them to pull together?
I dont watch SVU but that doesnt matter. Its a great decision and I hope Leight goes with it.
Two boys and the patriarch.
Archetypal!
Hope they behave....
Leight understands the visual format of the franchise...I wonder what he will do with the sexual politics of this show?It needs a different perspective.
Sooooo happy.
I know its nothing to do with me....but what a bold move.
Happiness....
It will be brave of Leight to take it on though...because those Law and Order fans gave him a hard time over LOCI.
I suggest he ignores the sites and just does his thing.Hold steady to the mast (!) and not the male ego...ha!
Big fat ditto to what Roesha said.
SVU and Warrren Leight will be perfect together, imo.
Well by golly, janethyland, it must be a full moon or something 'cause we actually agree on something. :P But yeah, I agree with everything you've said about letting him run the show his way, and for him to ignore the sites. ^_^'
I am happy for leight and for creative integrity. It makes no fifference to me because i dont watch SVU and have no interest in its subject matter or main characters.
The fact they have appointed Leight suggests they want changes.
Esaul,Im not surprised we agree because i think your role on this and other sites is to smoothe over any changes and blindly support whatever Wolf does. That seems to be your pattern.
People have always been around the sites to "ease the transition" whenever wolf needs it.Those of us on LOCI sites have intimate knowledge of that.It makes business sense to protect ones own interests. But its a bag of lies usually exposed by the ratings.

Amen and praise to you. Travelling around to various news and message boards I have witnessed this sudden upsurgence of fans practically GLOWING and gushing about the new 2.0. Very few people were posting about the original LOLA, there is a 32% drop in viewership, and now the boards are flooded with 2.0 lovers?
I smell something shilly, er, fishy.
Quite annoying and a slap in the face to the loyal viewers who tuned in for 8 weeks. Moreover, what does it say about the confidence NBC has for their new and 'improved' show and the boneheaded changes they made -- the fact that they have to flood the boards with phony fans to pump up this sinking ship?
Word of advice, how about listening to the real fans who watched the show from day one instead of hoping your phantom posters can translate into phantom Nielsen box owners.
