SVU to Exit NJ; L&O Sets Still Standing

Deadline.com reports that Law & Order SVU will exit its New Jersey filming location because of the suspension of the New Jersey film and production tax credit. It also reports that SVU may move to NYC to the vacant Law & Order set. The full story is at this link: 'Law & Order: SVU' Leaves New Jersey Over Nixed Tax Credit & May Move Into 'L&O' Set

The Gothamist reports that the Law & Order sets are still there, and you can see some nice black and white set photos at this link: Law & Order Sets Are Still Standing

Thanks All Things for the link to the set pics. Let's hope they actually get to use that set again, though I'm not very hopeful.

Do you know what the contract status is of the cast? If there were to be a movie, or if someone else were to pick it up, is everyone signed, or would contracts have to be renegotiated?

So much for the SVU set revamp this season...

Its good business sense to consolidate assets.
Maybe the LOCI sets will be vacant and available soon too?
That would be better than watching its audience steadily dwindle.

Actually, you know what? NBC should just turn the ‘L&O’ sets into a museum or a shrine or something. Something that will console us mothership fans who don’t care for ‘SVU’ right now with a piece of proper American television history.

Why was Huang in only 9 episodes of SVU this past season?

My guess would be: reining in spiralling costs?

A set related question here, the answer was given in an episode before season 5 but I've since lost it: does anyone know the name of the murals appearing in the courtroom sets? I know it's been there since before the white walls were redone as wood, and a witness in an episode read the title in an episode toprove that her eyesight was up to snuff, but for the life of me I cannot remember what the title is. I'd like to find out if it's based on a real mural. If anyone knows, I'd love to be reminded. Thanks!

vic, according to the information I have, the murals have no name, they were "inspired" by paintings of the real new York County Courthouse. I don't recall any episode where the murals were specifically named. Sorry!
