I thought the same thing about memory foam as you did
I was also confused by the wife's reference to the fact she was brought in as a material witness and she observed his confession. Is it just that one spouse can not be compelled to testify against another but is permitted to do so at their own discretion?
Yes, I think that a spouse can decide to testify against his/her spouse when they want to. Spousal priviledge seems to be a oermitted legal "tactic" they can use to avoid being forced to testify if they don't want to.
