What a terrific start. Another super compelling season it looks like. The new detective guy seems green but fun. They seem to be setting him up as a possible secret baddie (his whole "I hate bad cops" thing was a little on the nose), but I'm hoping it's just a poorly done red herring. The rats thing was very creative and different. Grad students! Interesting we haven't seen any of the other Stablers yet. I don't really care about the divorce stuff for Bell. Denise wasn't likable and she's the one that went to work for a guy Bell warned her was in with bad stuff. The sooner that plotline is gone the better. I did like that Bell and Stabler had that relatable moment about sort of being married to the job, and they are great together. I love this show so much. My anticipation is always so high every week.
I'm reluctant to comment yet because I'm not sure I liked this start. Sometimes when it's this early in a case when we're still meeting new characters I can't form an opinion. I can't put my finger on what put me off and I hope by the next episodes I'll have a better idea of whether I'm in to it or not!
It could be because I liked the Law & Order and the SVU starts much more.
I liked the new additions in the squad but out of the 3 shows this one is the weak link. Seems to be a take on Trump and quite frankly i can live without it. Plus in the last 2 seasons they have had a known guest star for Meloni to bounce off of so far there is no one.The writing seemed boring i watch the shows the next day on Peacock and i paused it and left to watch something more interesting and came back later to finish up.
Hated to see Nona Parker Johnson go (was there a BTS reason for this?), but the new guys look promising. I wish that they could have also added Rachel Lin to the main cast.
Given the crediting, there's definitely more to Pearl than they're letting on and less for the father. He's shady for sure, but he might not last on the show very long (otherwise he would've been a Special Guest Star). Being killed by the son would be a poor retread of Wheatley, so I hope they find some other way.
Cool to see the medical examiner cross over, wasn't expecting that. Could they maybe bring in Rogers sometime?
