BARBA (RAUL ESPARZA) TRIES A PRO BASKETBALL STAR ON SERIAL RAPE CHARGES

Basketball superstar Shakir “The Shark” Wilkins (guest star Henry Simmons) announces his partnership with the Orion Bay clothing line, owned by billionaire Orion Bauer (guest star Stacy Keach) and his daughter Cordelia (guest star Teri Polo). But the SVU intervenes when Orion press rep Carla Cannon (guest star Kelley Missal) tells reporters she was raped by Wilkins. When more women come forward, Benson (Mariska Hargitay) and Detective Carisi (guest star Peter Scanavino) disagree on the authenticity of each woman’s story, and Barba (Raul Esparza) takes a shaky case to court. Meanwhile, the case takes Rollins (Kelli Giddish) to her former precinct in Atlanta, where ex-colleagues bring up old memories. Also starring Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola). Also guest starring Elizabeth Marvel (Counselor Rita Calhoun), Lakisha May (Tiana), Patricia Noonan (Macie-Lynn), Myk Watford (Captain Sam Reynolds) and Sandy Duncan (Judge Virginia Farrell).

PETER GALLAGHER CAST IN RECURRING ROLE ON “LAW & ORDER: SVU”

Peter Gallagher has been cast in a recurring role in season 16 of Wolf Films/Universal Television’s “Law & Order: SVU.” Gallagher will play Deputy Chief William Dodds, the charismatic and tough-as-nails boss who oversees all of the special victims units in New York City. He demands respect and hard work from the commanders that answer to him, and is used to getting it.

Remarked “Law & Order: SVU” showrunner Warren Leight, “I've wanted to write for and work with Peter Gallagher since...forever. He's an actor's actor – deft with text and subtext; emotion and intellect. Like everyone else in our cast, he's also a great singer. We're all thrilled that this long into the show's run, actors of his quality want to do an arc on ‘SVU.’”

Gallagher is an award winning actor who calls the stage, film and TV his home. He currently stars as Arthur Campbell in the USA Network drama “Covert Affairs.” Other noteworthy roles include Sandy Cohen on “The OC,” Buddy Kane in the Academy Award winning film, “American Beauty,” and Sky Masterson in the 1992 Broadway Revival of “Guys and Dolls.” Gallagher is repped by Gersh and John Carrabino.

Season 16 of “Law & Order: SVU” premieres Wednesday, September 24 at 9/8c on NBC. Executive producers for the series are Dick Wolf, Warren Leight, Julie Martin, Jonathan Starch and Peter Jankowski.

IN THE 16TH SEASON PREMIERE, THE SVU TAKES ON A DANGEROUS PROSTITUTION RING TO FIND ELLIE PORTER’S KILLERS. STARRING MARISKA HARGITAY, ICE-T, DANNY PINO, KELLI GIDDISH AND RAUL ESPARZA.


In the season 16 premiere, Sergeant Benson (Hargitay) juggles work and her new role as foster mother to baby Noah Porter. Amaro (Pino), now working the traffic beat in Queens, arrests an underage prostitute with connections to Noah’s mother Ellie, who was "greenlit" by her pimp and brutally murdered. Amaro’s undercover work sets off a chain of events that puts everyone connected to the case - even baby Noah - in danger. Meanwhile, a new detective assigned to Manhattan SVU (guest star Peter Scanavino) starts off on the wrong foot. Also guest starring Lobo Sebastian (Joaquin Menendez), Manny Perez (Angel Perez), Alexa Mansour (Luna Garcia), Laura Gomez (Selena Cruz), Lenny Venito (John Gatto), Gavin-Keith Umeh (Little Tino) and Bronwyn Reed (Lucy).
