Law & Order Organized Crime Canceled

Several sources are reporting that Law & Order Organized Crime has been canceled. This should not be a surprise to fans, as the first sign it was on life support was when the series moved to Peacock for season 5. They never knew what they wanted the show to be unfortunately and it showed. The 5-7 different show runners it had certainly didn’t help matters. I mean when it was first announced I understood it to be a take on NYPD’s version of Chicago PD’s intelligence unit with Stabler as the Hank Voight character leading the unit. Instead they gave him a boss and made him still just a detective after all these years? I stopped watching either after season 1 or early into season 2 and even those episodes were forgettable. It just wasn’t Law & Order. Chris, what were your thoughts on it?

I agree with you 100%. I think they wanted something to feature Chris Meloni and wanted it to be different and gritty, etc., but never really got it into any kind of format that the viewing audience was comfortable with. And the showrunner changes really made a mess of things. I'm not surprised it's gone and frankly, I won't miss it. I don't know how Chris can fit into the Law & Order Universe any more at this point except maybe for a guest starring role here and there?
