Law & Order SVU “Fidelis Ad Mortem” Discussion Topic
Here is the discussion topic for Law & Order SVU, “Fidelis Ad Mortem” which aired on Thursday, January 15, 2026. Please feel free to add any feedback you have about this episode in the comments!
Did anyone else think that the crossover episode should have aired after this episode? Fin was briefly in the crossover but they showed him coming back to work in this episode. Seemed out of order to me.
@bcool199 - yes, this was out of order. The episode "Corrosive" was originally supposed to air, but was pulled because of the real-life arrest of one of the main stars in the episode. Fidelis Ad Mortem was moved up in the schedule to take it's place. But I don't think that really covers your issue with Fin's appearance, unless something happened in the "Corrosive" episode that we just won't likely ever see!
A great episode! Some of Griffin's storyline seems familiar (like the "discovering how your father was as a cop" storyline that we saw before with Stabler), but still good! I enjoy Noma Dumezweni in the show. What do you think Chris?
@SH - sorry for the delay in responding! I had a similar deja vu feeling with the Griffin storyline, not just because of Stable but because I think this has been done on too many other shows before. I guess everyone who had a cop for a parent must've thought they were dirty at some point (wink). I know they are working hard to give him a backstory and add to the drama of his "spying" on Benson but I suspect the and game is he'll be on Benson's side and she will come out of this on top. After all, why add someone to the permanent cast if they aren't going to turn out to be one of the "good guys"? Otherwise, the episode was very good and I like what the new showrunner has been doing so far!
