Here is the discussion topic for Law & Order SVU “Combat Fatigue” which aired on Thursday, April 18, 2024. Please feel free to add any feedback you have about this episode in the comments!
This episode was named correctly - combat fatigue - something I've been feeling with SVU lately. Benson needs to back off. I know Mariska is the star of the show but she is sucking all the air out of it, I'm getting smothered by her constant presence. I hope the Maddie story is over. And what's with her mother and what was she thinking? She's sick in the head for what she did. The episode was a train wreck in my opinion. Even Carisi can't save it, in fact even he is starting to annoy me even thought we don't see him much. I must be getting tired of the show and can't see anything redeeming in it anymore.
Can someone please tell Mariska to stop the whispering thing? Super annoying.
Boring episode. This storyline ran its course a long time ago.
It's disappointing that what's supposed to be a milestone season is mediocre at best. "Children of Wolves" last week is the best episode this season. The rest, excluding "Duty to Report," are not living up to the series' potential.
I miss Warren Leight being the showrunner. His episodes had consistency and intrigue. The same can't be said with David Graziano's episodes.
Brouchard isn’t the only one with a Messiah complex. How did the mother’s phone contact with Brouchard not get a mistrial declared? Why would supposedly super-empathetic Liv drag poor Maddie to her appalling ‘tick-tock’ therapist without asking her first - SURPRISE! What do any of the women see in Brouchard, you’d think the casting department might at least cast a conventionally attractive actor? Could Brouchard really unnerve BAU Special Agent Sykes? How can Mariska Hargitay not see how her character is unbalancing the show, and acting like a loose cannon?
Please God let poor Maddie and her family go back to Ohio…
