Great episode! I’d dare say the best of the season. Drifted from the usual L&O Mothership formula just slightly which was a breathe of fresh air. Kind of reminded me of the later Cutter-Rubirosa years when that cast really gelled and the show found its stride again. Seems to be happening again here. The cast is gelling and the show seems to be finding its stride. Love that they are exploring new stories and angles from the legal perspective. I’m glad they brought Sam back for the revival. Really I am. Yet I found myself thinking with this episode they would have probably never tackled with him still as DA. Maybe part of that staleness we were feeling was because of the old cast coming back? Perhaps a fresh start from the beginning would have helped where they didn’t have to try as hard to write the way they did 10+ years ago? After all time has moved on. Can’t wait for the future of the Mothership. It looks bright!

@Robert Nacci - I agree, great episode.

Everything clicked on this one. Price did not annoy me at all. Baxter fits in so well. The story itself was really good. This is a bit bizarre but I figured out the wife was the killer the minute I saw her, it was the way she moved in right away to protect her husband. He was scum for the way he took advantage of people in need but he didn't scream "killer" to me. The fact that the restaurant guy didn't mention right off that he recognized the guy and that later he was shifty on the stand, it only reinforced my suspicions. I like how they got to that point though. I feel very good about Law & Order these days and think this show is going to have a few more years in it, at least,

It's a great episode! The original Law & Order and Organized Crime have the strongest seasons this time. SVU is such a dud.

Side note that someone on YouTube pointed out that I thought was actually pretty funny. Where in the world did that window next to Baxter’s desk in the DA’s office come from? In 23 seasons there’s never been a window there! 😂

I'll have to check but I think that spot could have been covered with paneling and bookcases. Maybe the window was there all along and just covered up by "stuff"?
