Here is the discussion topic for Law & Order “Deadline” which aired on Thursday, March 23, 2023. Please feel free to add any feedback you have about this episode in the comments!
I'll keep this short. When the Deputy Mayor and embezzlement angles got involved, my friend said, "This sounds too ambitious for these writers." And I agreed with him.
The entire lawyer-side was atrocious. They really need lawyers in the writer's room. Price comes off as ill-prepared, completely lacking knowledge of a law, and can't even argue a motion to suppress. That's bad writing.
And all these moral and ethical questions they're throwing in to stir controversy. I'd probably be more with it if the law side was not just... what it is.
The writer's did make me root for price over Jack. That's a first.
I agree with @Valens Hawke - the legal side of this was a miss. Price has gone to court with weak cases so many times that I wonder how he got to where he's at? He always seems to be scrambling for evidence.
Jack's attitude was slightly surprising but Jack has been know to be ruthless when a big murder case is involved. He wants that win.

@Laurie F, not only that but he's lost only one case that went to verdict (I think) in all the episodes? How? Egregious.
Just call Mehcad Brooks and Jeffrey Donovan Team Atlas given THEY ARE CARRYING THE SHOW.
Honestly, I wonder how Hugh Dancy is tolerating this unless he's simply in that phase of It's-a-paycheck mode right now.
