My comment: While watching this episode, it felt like déjà vu. I know either L&O or SVU has done a story before where an illegal was picked up by ICE right before testifying!

Chris, I saw your comment in the post above and you're right this has been done before. I can't remember whether it was Law & Order or SVU but they had the same scenario play out with the illegal who needed to testify.
The first part of this episode was really good. Mehcad and Jeffrey have great chemistry and I'm enjoying the two of them going through the cases. The second half dragged a bit for me, maybe because it felt predictable? It's still far better than L&O Organized Crime, which for me is boring this season.
Ditto from me they really need to find either some decent stories or writers for this show.
The lawyer-side really dragged for me. I agree that the cop-side was excellent and I thoroughly enjoy the Cosgrove/Shaw partnership. But Price and Maroun showed a staggering-level of incompetence in trial prep. Again, Price, you are a former defense attorney. You couldn't reasonably infer the defense strategy of destroying the credibility of your main witness?
As for an earlier episode, this sort of reminds me of the Season 20 episode, "Great Satan."
