SVU is not going anywhere fans.

NBC has renewed Law & Order: SVU for its 14th season.

SVU’s fate was left in the air because of series low ratings. However it didn’t tell the whole story. Despite low ratings, it more than doubled its awful lead-in numbers, and still is one of the top rated series on NBC. Mariska Hargitay also previously signed a new deal with NBC Universal to stick around.

The drama has also gone through big changes, and has come out creatively on top. New showrunner Warren Leight came on board and hired new cast-members Danny Pino and Kelli Giddish. The show also dealt with the departures of Christopher Meloni and B.D. Wong."

Thank goodness! I was worried. With my beloved 'Criminal Intent' not renewed, I was getting worried that there would be no more L&O on air. I have enjoyed this season; it's had some good guest criminals. But I would like fewer new characters and more old characters.

Still hoping the mothership can be revived.

@K&B- It hasn't been for years, I don't think NBC would even consider doing that at this point.

According to this press release, 'Law & Order: SVU' will return on Wednesdays at 9/8c ahead of brand new Dick Wolf drama 'Chicago Fire', at 10pm...

This puts 'SVU' up against ratings juggernaut, 'Criminal Minds.' Granted, it will enter its 8th season without a popular cast member, Paget Brewster. But still, this is poor scheduling... I think 'SVU' will still be slaughtered by CBS. Move it back to Tuesdays at 10, for goodness' sake!

YAY, more SVU! I'm really excited about Chicago Fire, anything by Dick Wolf has got to be good! Here's the official website:

PS - any news about Law & Order: Cape Town?

Nothing on L&O Cape Town...I wonder if it is really going to happen...

Hmm, I wish they would do a Law & Order: Toronto. It probably wouldn't get cancelled either, because the Canadian government funds tv shows as long as its filmed in Canada and has Canadian actors.
