Law & Order SVU: Andre Braugher, Natasha Lyonne, Timothy Busfield, Sofia Vassilieva, Carrie Preston and Izabella Miko to Guest Star During November Sweeps

"Law & Order: SVU" continues its powerful line up of guest actors during November sweeps in three compelling new episodes, according to Executive Producer Warren Leight:

- Andre Braugher (Homicide: Life on the Street, Men of a Certain Age) will appear in multiple episodes of SVU, beginning with the episode “True Believers”. Braugher plays Bayard Ellis, a powerful defense attorney turned champion of civil rights and civil liberties. Ellis and Detective Benson (Mariska Hargitay) square off in a seemingly straightforward rape case that is turned upside down. Sophia Vassilieva (Medium) plays the young woman who claims to have been raped.

- Natasha Lyonne (American Pie) plays Gina, a psych patient and Carrie Preston (True Blood) plays her Aunt. In “Educated Guess,” SVU detectives investigate a possible rape case at Gina’s psychiatric hospital.

- Timothy Busfield (thirtysomething, The West Wing) and Izabella Miko (Clash of the Titans) play a star crossed couple in “Russian Brides.” Busfield plays a widower whose fiancé (Miko) mysteriously disappears.

Other guest stars who have appeared this season include T.R Knight, Kyle MacLachlan, Mehcad Brooks , Dan Lauria and Franco Nero.

“Law & Order: SVU” is a Wolf Films production in association with Universal Television. Dick Wolf, Ted Kotcheff, Warren Leight and Peter Jankowski are Executive Producers. SVU airs Wednesdays, 10:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on NBC.
