Deadline.com: Andre Braugher In Talks for Recurring SVU Role

Deadline.com reports that Andre Braugher, who Law & Order fans may remember from his Homicide: Life on the Streets (H:LOTS) role (and the L&O crossover)  is in negotiations for a recurring role on Law & Order SVU. Read the full story here: Deadline.com: Andre Braugher To Do Arc On ‘L&O: SVU’

I certainly hope this comes to pass. I  liked him on H:LOTS and really enjoyed him on "Men of a Certain Age."

Andre Braugher is excellent in any role. He'd be a welcome addition to the SVU cast. On Twitter ,showrunner Warren Leight denied this would even happen, so I'm not sure whether it will come to pass.Fingers crossed that Andre B. will be on the show.

Jonathan Strauss of JS Casting just tweeted:

"Two Time Emmy winner Andre Braugher is Officially coming to Law & Order SVU! It is so on!!!"

I'm all for this. I adore Andre. He's a consistently *great* actor. What does Warren Leight have against him? That he was nominated for an Emmy? That he rocked Homicide, especially when he had scenes with Belz? I think it needs to happen. If I wasn't so busy, I'd launch a letter campaign, like I did when Belz was being shoved to the wayside on SVU a few seasons ago.

I don't think Warren Leight has anything against Andre Braugher. I think his tweets were in response to people thinking that Andre was going to be a "love interest" for Benson. He reminded that the news story "wasn't a press release. And because readers jumped to conclusions they inferred from article."

He better reprise his Pembleton role! It wouldn't make sense if he was cast as someone else!

I think Andre would fit in with the rest of the cast just fine. Although I'm not sure what to think about his character as Olivia's love interest, it seems she's been having bad luck with men for the past, I dunno, 12 years?
