The Hollywood Reporter says that one of the main characters who plan to exit of Law & Order Criminal Intent – Vincent D’Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, or Eric Bogosian - will be murdered. This same episode where the dead occurs will mark the exit for the other two characters.
This will not please Law & Order Criminal Intent fans, I am sure. I for one am somewhat speechless on the issue right now.

Well I can tell you ATLAO, that if it's Erbe who is murdered, this household will no longer watch CI. She is most beloved in this household, she being one of my hubby's tv girlfriends. I too will be heartbroken. Her character is so real much more so than Benson on SVU. She does more with a hair flip and a sarcastic remark than most with entire scenes with dialog. Alas our LAO universe is taking a big hit with this one.

If they kill Eames, I will be so goddamn pissed off.
We know Goren won't get killed, because VDO said he could pop up in the future.
And since Eric Bogosian is leaving, I'm pretty sure it's him. Why would they lose two detectives AND the captain? Must be because the captain was killed, and the detectives left.
But USA/NBC...bad move. I'll still watch because I'm obsessed with the Law & Order universe, but still...
I will be heartbroken no matter who dies. I cannot believe they are doing this. I mean first it was Diane Neal and Adam Lake on SVU and now these three (or four) on CI. Dick Wolfe has no idea what interests the fans of his show. That or he has a huge ego. Or both.
LOCI died for me with last month's announcement of the departure of 3 cast members. Not being a fan of Jeff Goldblum or USA's decision to dumb down this franchise, I will bid this show adieu when D'Onofrio, Erbe and Bogosian leave.
It's been a great 8 year run for me. Too bad all good things must come to an end.
While, I like the character of Nichols, I do not think that Jeff Goldblum alone can carry the show.
I wonder whether D'Onfrio, Erbe, and Bogosian were fired so that Dick Wolf could free up the additional revenue required as a consequence of the new contracts negotiated by Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay for seasons 9 and 10 of SVU?
When did we learn that they were fired? Maybe they want to move on. D'Onofrio, Erbe, and Bogosian are actors, not Dick Wolf's prisoners or slaves. If they want to pursue other interests he is powerless to a certain extent to force them to do another season.
A few weeks ago Michael Ausiello addressed the question of wheter or not Vincent D'Onfrio quit the franchise or was fired on the 30 September 2009 in his "Ask Ausiello" column
Question: Vincent D’Onofrio can’t leave Law & Order: CI! Did he quit or was he fired? —Jacob
Ausiello: Quit?! That’s hilarious! Thanks for the laugh. I needed that.
This response semmingly indicates that he was fired or otherwise released from his contract
I think it will be a political thing, and by political I mean office political-the chief of d's really hates Goren, and I reckon he will be set up by him with Internal Affairs ( I saw it mentioned in the script) but he gets cleared, someone takes a pot shot and kills Ross instead and Goren and Eames decide to quit the department since they are fed up with all the "politics" of the squad now and Goren decides to become a PI instead so we see him from time to time thats my theory -I would be so hacked off if they kill his best friend and confidant Eames, that would be monumentally cruel after all the death he has experienced in his life, losing her would be just about take the cake:'( I am sure that firing stuff is media hype.
I've been simmering mad since I heard about this. I am quite done with LOCI. Won't even watch the season premiere because if they kill Eames, I will send Wolf Productions hate mail until the show is finally canceled for good.
As far as I'm concerned, LOCI ended with Frame. Season 8 was an abomination and except for one episode, Ladies Man, not worthy of being considered part of the most excellent program it once was. Ladies Man only serves as an epilogue for me, showing Goren getting back to form and working with his partner - who will not die in my mind, no matter what the powers that be have done to her.
I've had it with Dick Wolf and his total disregard for actors and writers. I'm boycotting the whole franchise. Oh wait, I only watch LOCI. lol Okay, I guess I'm just being overly dramatic here but I'm even more upset than I thought I was going to be when I learned VDO, KE and EB are all leaving.
I will have a stroke if they kill Eames...
