This episode was...okay. I liked that Peter Scanavino had the chance to show his acting range, but I thought the story itself was a little unrealistic. I can't know what is in the mind of someone committing armed robbery, but it would seem less risky for them to just take whatever money they could get and they'd go. But these fools just kept hanging around, and I blame Carisi for offering them more money and more options to get them to stay. I suppose he was trying to diffuse things but he added fuel to the fire by helping these guys find more ways to get more money, rather than just convince them it was a lost cause and get them to leave. Lucky for Carisi (eyeroll) that Benson is the one who comes looking for him and inserts herself into the hostage negotiations instead of letting the experts do it. AND calling Rollins to bring her down there and add to the worry, what was she thinking? I don't know, this episode rubbed me the wrong way.

10/10! Really, I don't think I could hv asked for more from an action-style ep. Think this will go down as a favorite of the series

Ep felt longer than the hour, in a good way. So much happened that it felt like more time had passed. The opening scene alone was so eventful that by the time the opening credits began rolling I felt like I had watched 30 mins already. And on a broader note I will say that this season has been nailing the cold opens. They hv been interesting and impactful in gearing me up for the rest of the ep

Even the convos among the officers felt high stakes. These are scenes i tend to half-pay attention to as I'm so used to them in shows and movies. But in the context of everything else unfolding, these scenes gripped my attn too. I was in the huddle right w them hearing the plan

The scene w Tess screaming out on the sidewalk was so raw and communicative. It told so much. I felt that scream in the depths of my soul. Unforgettable

So too was Carisi's emotional breakdown after Ali died and his startle response to the other hostage checking on him. Who knew Peter Scanavino had such range. His distress- in all its varied emotions- was palpable throughout the ep.

I'm so glad they didn't give Deonte some sort of redemption twist at the end. When Carisi turned the gun on him I thought, "Damn right, Carisi!"  Deonte was not coerced into going there and had been given several opportunities from the get-go to make a different decision. He only 'helped' when he himself felt "cornered". So glad Carisi didn't coddle him in the end.

I do wonder if in irl LE gets these kinda absurd 'demands' from criminals during hostage negotiations. The ones in Townhouse Incident had similar demands but at least that guy was high. Now I'm wondering is this a thing or is it more the Hollywood take lol. I will say tho even the dialog here felt more intriguing  than in similar past eps.

Really a standout ep for the series as a whole. My only disappointment is that I hv to wait almost 2 months for the show to be back but I'm waiting eagerly 👀
