Law & Order “For The Defense” Scrapped

Sadly, Law & Order “For The Defense” has been scrapped. Read the details here: “The Hollywood Reporter - Law & Order: For the Defense’ Spinoff Scrapped at NBC ”

Variety reports that another Law & Order bannered series will be developed:      “Variety: NBC Shelves ‘Law & Order: For the Defense,’ Instead Developing Another ‘Law & Order’ Series”

Asking the obvious: How about bringing back the original recipe Law & Order?

This sucks. I was really looking forward to see how they would do this.

Sad
what is your theory on why they cancelled it?

@Unknown - it's hard to even guess. If they hadn't even cast anyone yet, it almost sounds like it was a case of "creative differences" between Wolf Entertainment, the showrunner, and maybe even NBC. I wondered how, with all the other Law & Order-brand shows focused on the prosecution, how they could fit in a focus on the defense, especially if they decided to do crossovers. The whole thing is a mystery. It would be easier to explain why they backed off on the "Hate Crimes" series than try to speculate on "The Defense". Maybe more info will come out later on the topic...

Do you think they will still do Hate Crimes?

My guess is Hate Crimes is dead. Maybe it could make it to streaming but I think even that is a stretch.
