In years past the entire cast has been there. Is this becoming the Mariska Hargitay show only? Still miss my favorite ADA, Rafael Barba/Raúl Esparza.

@Jodi Stephens - It may have focused on Mariska and Dick because of the topic - "creating great characters" which speaks more to the creative process rather than the acting process. That's my guess.

With Mariska involved in the discussion it should have been called "Ruining Great Characters". She & the writers have made a real train-wreck of the Olivia B role.

Chris, did you hear that NBC itself said that it REFUSES to cancel SVU until Mariska herself decides she wants to quit? That gives HIGH hopes for Season 21, but the show still has to be at the top of its game.

@Draven Long - I read something to that effect, I think it said that the show will continue as long as Mariska is willing. (And Mariska has said something to the effect that she's sticking with the show.) But I don't think I read that they actually refuse to cancel the show until Mariska decides to quit. But there's been a lot of stuff written about the show lately - and I haven't seen an entire Paley Center video where some of those issues came up, so it's highly possible. That said, money talks - if NBC can't get enough $$$ in ad revenue or the show starts costing too much, the show could get canceled. After what happened to L&O, I take everything that is said with a grain of salt when it comes to NBC!
