As someone who loathes reality shows, especially ones like The Bachelor, I'm not overly excited about this one.

@ladybug82 - I despise them too and don't watch them. I also think SVU has done a reality show themed episode once before (or maybe it was a talk show) and I think more than once on Law & Order.

I don't understand what people have against reality shows. Chris and ladybug81, why do you despise them? I don't watch The Bachelor, but I do watch The Voice and Survivor. Is it because they seem too scripted? While I do understand part of that argument, there are some things you can't control. For example, you can't fake someone's singing ability on a show like The Voice. The results on the other hand...

@Ana Andrade - I don't like them for many reasons. Sometimes the competitions bring out the worst in people. They're mostly boring. I don't feel like I am entertained by them or I don't feel like I learn anything from them. There are so many fabulous TV dramas out there now (mostly on cable) that my need to see a good story can be well satisfied and I don't need to waste the time watching people compete for something which for me has little value.

@AnaAndrade I was a fan of American Idol in the beginning but lost interest eventually. It just felt like at times the voting was more of a popularity contest as opposed to who had the most talent. I think the last season I watched was the year Carrie Underwood won. I also liked Survivor the first season it was on. I guess with shows like The Bachelor, among others, it feels fake. I don't feel like I'm being entertained like I do when watching a scripted program.
