Here is the discussion topic for Law & Order SVU “Tenfold” which aired on Thursday, November 14, 2024. Please feel free to add any feedback you have about this episode in the comments!
I was really good to give Fin and Bruno some much needed attention but why was Carisi such a jerk? I agree the guy was pervy but last I heard it wasn't illegal to have bad thoughts. Carisi used his position to intimidate him and also used Benson to help carry out the intimidation. It's good that the guy got help but it really wasn't any of Carisi's or Benson's business until he acted on it. They are not supposed to be social workers or use their authority to harass people when they haven't done anything illegal.
Ngl I was nervous that after my comments last week I'd hv to angry-rant about this ep. But it was pretty good
Hiring Kevin Kane was an excellent casting decision. I said this last season but he (and as such Bruno) is so versatile and can team up w any other xter and hv chemistry.
This is not the first time, of course, but the writing this season has suited Ice-T's acting style and allowed him to be a stronger xter in this show. The synopsis for the ep focused on Bruno but I feel this ep gave Fin a lot of screentime as well and I enjoyed watching him. Bruno and Fin as a duo continues to be so good.
Also not a first but just some appreciation- I'm thankful for how far this show has come in telling stories of POC. The story of a Black sex-worker was treated respectfully. She was not a caricature, of either her ethnicity or her situation, but a person.
From the ep's synopsis I thought the Carisi portion was gonna be similar to Liv and Maddie where he saw smthg unfold that he was helpless to stop. I'm glad I guessed wrong. I enjoyed the subplot between Liv and Carisi and understand now where she was coming from in ep 4. I appreciated the pt about not doing predictive policing and the fact that "icky behavior" does not necessarily mean it was a criminal act. I think that went over my head on that earlier ep. Point taken.
I know I tend to over pay attention and these are extremely minor points but I liked the subtle moments of the ep as well. Liv's meditation at the beginning: good that she got to do that no matter how shortlived; she seems to be healthier this season. Fin's raised eye at seeing "parole officer" work to get access to Jade: such a small fleeting moment but, for me, it was effective in adding some levity to the scene.

It was nice to see Fin and Bruno get more screen time in this episode instead of it being all "Olivia-centered".

I liked this one...felt like the old eps with munch, Liv & stabler...carisi could have been left out lol...felt like an unnecessary distraction
