  1. With Raul Esparza absent at the 400th episode party and being snubbed by TV Guide magazine when they did their cover story on the 400th episode. Chris, I'm worried that in addition to current events going on around the nation and the upcoming episode in March that sets Barba up as a victim of a Wikileaks style hack, that Raul is being pushed off the show. I know this must sound silly, but I still can't help but wonder about it.
If Raul leaves the show, then SVU will lose a loyal viewer. I'll quit watching the show. It saddens me that times feel so bleak.

  2. @Amy Majdalani - yes, I worry that Raul is not long for the show - and if that were the case, it would make me sad.

  3. I hope Raul doesn't leave the show. But with the way things are going, they don't look good for him. Raul is an amazing and talented actor, losing him would be an extremely sad day.
    I'm hoping he'll stay on.

  4. I even voiced my concerns on SVU's Facebook page, but it seems I will never get a response from them.

  5. Amy, that's how those of us from the true SVU years felt when Casey left. Ever since Casey left, there's been a true shortage of ADAs. Or a surplus, technically. Point is, they never stay long. I don't really care about Barba. #bringbackCaseyNovak (who was stated to have the highest conviction rate in her office in season 8, "Haystack.")

  6. If I'm honest I'm actually kind of sick of Barba. I was very much a huge Barba fan right from the fourteenth season, but he seems a little repetitive 4 seasons later and his wit and sass just doesn't do it for me anymore. I don't really like the Barba/Benson tension. If anything - this season should be his last.

I also would prefer Novak (or even Cabot) back. Or a new ADA. I'm still loathed that they killed off Paxton (almost at the 6 year mark!)... but I think Barba needs to get the chop. Sorry if that offends anyone... I just don't think we're going to get anymore character development.

  7. Those who joined SVU recently and don't know of the earlier years are truly missing out. There was actually a time when Olivia wasn't just concerned with her womb and her bed buddy of the day, believe it or not.

  8. If you guys must know, I WAS around when Stabler, Munch and Cragen were part of the show. I didn't miss a damn thing.
