  1. A pretty solid episode all around! It flowed really well especially with the normal detective lineup and all the characters present. I got a kick out of the new detective being told to put his tie on reminded me of the episode where Van Buren told Lupo and Bernard to shave and clean up. Not sure how I feel about the new detective. Going the hotheaded route it seems? Oh and just a funny observation. Has Price ever won a legal argument since the revival started? I mean it seems like every time they go to chambers, the judge is ruling for the defense! 😂

  2. A great way to introduce Walker! I think Ajala is great in the show! And he's definitely less annoying than Shaw/Brooks. Just one question, though: how is what Walker did not a crime?

Chris, any thoughts for this episode and season overall? It's a great season, but for me, SVU is the best so far -- something I thought I would never say a year ago.

  3. Walker was okay! I get why he did what he did, but the move felt very unethical. I know DA investigators don’t exist in the L&O world anymore, but that security camera footage is the kind of thing they would have looked into, not the detectives. Or better yet, Defense could’ve requested the footage and entered it as evidence.

  4. @SH - what Walker did was wrong. Highly unethical. Not a good way for him to come into the 2-7 and I'm glad RIley called him on it right away. @Sir.GoodGuy, to your point, I think that at the point that they were made aware of what the defendant claimed, the DA should have had their own people check on the existence of camera footage. Or, since Walker was new to the 2-7, Riley should have accompanied him, seeing there was so much riding on the case at that point!

I think David Ajala is going to be a great addition to the cast!

  5. What Walker did was a Brady violation. It would cause the guilty verdict to be overturned and give the Picketts ground for a lawsuit against the DA's office and the NYPD.
And then there is the Miranda warning that didn't happen when the detectives were talking to Kate Pickett at the station. The requirement kicked in as soon as Walker said "Let's talk about you.". So nothing Kate Pickett said was admissible.

  6. @Catherine - I never noticed the failure to properly give the Miranda warning!
