  1. I legitimately in tears right now. The end of a literal era.

  2. This is an end of a era

Wonder why he is leaving. (I suspect this is Waterston's choice)

  3. NOOOOOOO! Not Sam! I just love Sam AKA Jack McCoy. He was THE BEST that any of the Law & Order shows ever had. THE BEST. He will be missed terribly. Tony Goldwyn is a good choice to replace him and I imagine it will take some time to get used to him. But there will never be anyone like Sam as Jack McCoy. I guess nothing lasts forever but I always hoped that Jack McCoy would.

  4. Incredibly disappointing. Jack McCoy is my absolute favorite character in the "Law & Order" franchise. Sam Waterston is also one of the best actors I've watched (all the way from the franchise to Netflix's "Grace & Frankie"). Again, incredibly disappointing. Tony Goldwyn has big shoes to fill!!!

  5. Really sad, but on the other hand, I appreciate his will to keep moving, even at his age. I only wish we'd gotten more of him (yes, I'm greedy 😂) - if only the show hadn't been cancelled back the first time around...Thank you Sam, and good luck, wherever you're going.

I've only seen Goldwyn in Scandal, so I guess it will take a while for him to shed that character in my eyes LOL.
