This was a more cohesive story than what we've seen before this season. A shame that it had to happen as the season winds down. Bringing in Rollins was a plus, I never thought I would say that. It only highlights the poor casting choice they made with Muncy and how badly that character was written. The writers possibly did this actress a disservice.
Another show I haven't watched in forever but this is one of the more cogent eps I've seen since the series started tbh and without corny stuff like Elliot yelling out an 'ambiguous' "I love you". Oohhh! Who could he be saying that too? Was that directed at Liv?! I'm glad we did not hv to endure any of that in this ep.
Since she was in it let me just say I'm glad we got a Rollins that was written w a little more complexity than we've gotten in quite a while. Also, that it seems we hv gotten to a place w this xter where she can be in love w Carisi and still hv her own identity. Won't go on tangent abt that but yes it was nice to return to a xter that wasn't just one flat note.
As w SVU it left me somewhat keen to tune in this week and see how things play out. Haven't had that kinda interest in forever.
And forgive my cynicism but when I saw that Liv would be shot in the next ep I thought, "No biggie. Fin can give her the same-type bullet to wear round her neck. She'll be fine once she gets the bullet!" Ok a bit much but my mind did go there straight away. I can't completely avoid the angst w some of these things that hv really turned me off from this show.
It is an improvement compared to the previous episodes this season. Glad Rollins is back because Muncy is not enjoyable as a character.
