Here is the discussion topic for Law & Order SVU “Jumped In” which aired on Thursday, January 5, 2023. Please feel free to add any feedback you have about this episode in the comments!
Can someone explain to me why Benson decided to confront those two guys on her own? Especially with her son watching. Sure she put Noah inside the building but wouldn't they BOTH have been safer had she gone inside as well and called for backup? Sometimes I question Benson's judgement. There was something about her black eye that distracted me. Was it a bad makeup job or just seeing Benson with a black eye?
If SVU is already shorthanded with Rollins gone, who is going to do all the SVU cases while they clean up the Bronx? The SVU cases don't just stop.
This episode was pretty good though, I don't want my "issues" with it to detract from my overall opinion.
Currently the best of the Law and Order's and i have complained for years about it. Is there a romance brewing between Olivia and Duarte? and i love the Terry Bruno storyline finally something with teeth.
Did anyone else seem to think that everything was rush here? It seemed like they had some very good ideas for cases with all the characters involved, especially Benson involved in all of them. They have tried to do this a couple of times, but each case seem to be so superficial with very little character or case development. They could have done a much better job by doing each case as an episode, but I guess the producers were more interested in counting their pennies. Were they doing this to make Benson look like some sort of super cop and making the whole NYPD look like lazy uncaring imbeciles? Why don't they actually give the other actors in the cast a little more time and dialogue.
@dttruman - I'm assuming they featured more than one story so they could have an excuse to continue on the story with the gang into the next week?
I'm also guessing that with the prospect that a lot of Kelli Giddish fans claim to be bailing out on SVU that they need to put the focus on the other female lead character - Benson. I sometimes feel like shows like this always resort to the "woman in peril" type story to draw fans in. Of course we suspect that Benson will ultimately be victorious over the "bad guys" because the star of the show can never fail (wink).
