Interesting to note who's not there.
ReplyDeleteBeginning to wonder if all this "will he or won't he be back for S17" speculation about Danny Pino is legitimate or a ploy to boost ratings for the finale.
Leak a photo, have a "crew" member say he's gone, doesn't appear at an important NBC event.
Makes one wonder what's really going on.
Admittedly I know very little about promoting TV shows, but to me, it seemed like the leaked photos and info from a crew member were done by fans. It seems (on Twitter at least) that they have been asked to take that info down, almost like the SVU folks don't want THAT much info out there. PD's absence yesterday seemed to be the nail in the coffin for me. It seems a bit extreme to ask an actor not to appear at the Upfronts to play into this whole social media frenzy of "will he or won't he return" when what happens to his character hasn't been officially been made available. The select few who actually saw it on Twitter are the only ones who know. The only other hint is the line in the promo about something happening that can "change the squad forever" which is not a direct reference to him. I just wonder if SVU/NBC are going to make us wait much longer to know or if they feel like this whole thing has gotten away from them and they need to address it.
ReplyDeleteHis absence at the NBC Upfronts is pretty telling.
ReplyDeleteIf you're no longer contracted with a network you're hardly going to be at an event promoting their shows.
I think the whole "change squad forever" reference is more about Benson becoming a Lieutenant. Changing the structure of the squad maybe.
Network TV is a cutthroat industry and I am a bit of a cynic.
Could this all be an elaborate ruse? Possibly. Is it paranoia? Also possible.
We shall all know soon enough.
Since the lieutenant thing will be brought up Wednesday's episode I really think it's about Nick getting shot and rethinking what's important in life and that will surely change the squadroom forever (& terribly for us Amaro fans) and it's probably also the 'squadroom shake up' Warren talked about in that interview a week or so back. They probably wanted to keep the shooting under wraps though.
ReplyDeleteAll this is speculations from my part of course. I'm dying to find out what's really going on & if Danny will be back for S17 I would be nothing but super happy!!
Group photo added - enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLOL, am I the last person in America to know that Mariska H. Met her husband Peter on Law & Order??
ReplyDeleteHe later went to Blue Bloods.
