Law & Order SVU “Rapist Anonymous” Episode Information
Here are the details for a new episode of Law & Order SVU, “Rapist Anonymous”.
Law & Order SVU “Rapist Anonymous” Air Date November 20, 2013 (9 PM ET/8C Wednesday NBC)
DETECTIVE ROLLINS (KELLI GIDDISH) FINDS HERSELF IN THE MIDDLE OF A HE-SAID SHE-SAID RAPE CASE
Detective Amanda Rollins (Giddish) helps her friend Lena Olson (Amy Seimetz) press charges against her lover when she accuses him of rape. But Lena’s history with the suspect and her proclivity for rough sex makes the he-said she-said investigation too difficult to pursue. When the case escalates to murder, a dangerous love triangle is discovered and Rollins is forced to confess her private life on the stand. Also starring Mariska Hargitay (Detective Olivia Benson), Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola), Dann Florek (Captain Donald Cragen), Danny Pino (Detective Nick Amaro) and Raúl Esparza (ADA Rafael Barba). Also guest starring Dean Winters (Brian Cassidy), Tamara Tunie (M.E. Melinda Warner), Thomas Sadoski (Nate Davis), Nia Vardalos (Minonna Efron), Jennifer Restivo (Melissa Blume), Geoffrey Cantor (Gene Fierstein) and Mel Harris (Eileen Switzer).

So, is Rollins becoming the new Stabler? Because it seems like she's filling his "have to obsess over a case and deal with personal issues at the same time" role that bogged down his character for a while.
ReplyDeleteLooking forward to this episode so friggin much :D
ReplyDeleteHave a feeling it will be very humiliating for Rollins up on that stand but still... awesome! And I have a feeling I'll dislike Nia's character even more after this ep.
Rollins has had more drama in just over two seasons than Fin and Amaro combined. Hell, I think even Liv had less going on before Lewis came along. How many different bad things have we learned about Rollins or watched her experience in just over 2 seasons? She was sexually assaulted at her last job, gambling problem, beat up because of gambling debt, her and her sister had a rough childhood, bad sister wreaks havoc on her life and Rollins is suspected of murder, she gets shot. What will they come up with next? I have a love/hate relationship with Rollins. I like her in the every day case stuff, but have not liked her amidst all of her personal drama.
ReplyDeleteFor that reason, I can't say I'm looking forward to this episode.
I like Rollins as a character but I don't give a crap about her personal life. I feel like they've given her enough drama to last the next two seasons. I'm glad to see Dean Winters back, but other than that, I'm not looking forward to this ep. Bummer considering the premise looks interesting. I wish they'd dedicate more time to the aftermath of Olivia's ordeal. She's really the only one I care about and I'm pretty sure I'm in the majority when I say that. I'm getting tired of the writers pimping out Kelli Giddish. We get it; she's cute, now let's get back to the good stuff.
ReplyDelete@Ashley- I disagree that the majority care only about Olivia. Maybe they don't have the emotional attachment to the new characters yet, but look at the response when Munch left! Maybe most of the fans care about Olivia more than the others (though I'm not in that camp) but it's not like she IS SVU.
ReplyDeleteI personally prefer Rollins storylines to Benson ones. Even after the Lewis arc, Benson's character is pathetically boring. She doesn't have any depth.
Rollins certainly comes to the 1-6 with a lot of personal baggage!
ReplyDeleteI don't know you Alex, but I still like you ;)
ReplyDeleteAnd I couldn't agree with you more!
@ Alex
ReplyDelete"Even after the arc Lewis Benson character is pathetically boring. She has no depth."
That is heresy. I like Rollins. But finding no depth Olivia Benson gets to be pathetic. Olivia is the character denser, deeper SVU. Of course not everyone is in love with Olivia Benson. Nobody in the world is unanimous. But there is no way to compare the characters. Olivia Benson is a modern heroine, loved by millions of people. Perhaps for this reason there is always those who will disagree. And Amanda Rollins still need to walk too many miles to get close to Olivia Benson. About the actresses, Mariska is an icon and Kelly Gidish passes far from it.
IMHO.
@CLA
ReplyDelete"Olivia Benson is a modern heroine"
And that's exactly why she's boring and without depth.
This is just my opinion and obviously we all have them and are entitled to them, but I dare I disagree with the premise that Olivia Benson is boring or without depth. In fact I can't think of another character that has demonstrated such complexity of thought and emotion as we have seen from Liv. In this season alone, there's been more depth and growth for her character than any other with Barba being a close second.
ReplyDeleteAs for boring, again opinions and all...seeing as the season premiere was all about Olivia Benson and they had amazing, epic ratings, I think we can safely say the vast majority of the audience is not bored by her at all.
@ Alex
ReplyDeleteYour opinions are really contradictory . Olivia is a hero because thousands of people identify with their solidarity with their compassion for the victims , with their courage and determination . I fully accept that you do not like the character. You would not be the first person . But to say that she has no prefundidade , seems absurd and incoherent . Olivia Benson is the most complex character and deep SVU . Starting with their own sexual orientation , always discussed . I confess , without embarrassment , that she is the main reason I watch SVU . On that Mariska leave, I do not see more SVU . No character within the series , keeps me so attached to the story , no character manages to convey so much truth and conviction in what you want to do. I have so much good to say about the character , but it would take so long . I only say that Olivia Benson is my idol yes . But she left the small screen and took to the streets , in the skin of this extraordinary Mariska Hargitay , who with his Foundation has helped more than 13,000 people abused . Mariska is an icon , an inspiration . Alex you probably also do not like Mariska . You're an iconoclast . But it is anyway : the same as Olivia / Mariska is loved by millions , she is hated . This is life and it is part of human nature .
Sorry my english.
I absolutely adore Rollins. She has been through more than some of the other characters but to be fair, she is a little off (mentally) compared to the other detectives. She's way too bouncy and the most of the things she say are off the wall ("I say we go out and shoot the son of a bitch") and then there enters Cragen who's always "Rollins"! Or when she tells Liv she hopes she told Tucker to stick it where the sun don't shine and Cragen was all "Rollins" again. She acts like she's always on Ritalin. But I love it!
ReplyDeleteI just find it so stupid that we (humans) keep comparing people/characters/ourselves all the frickin time.
ReplyDeleteI know it's human but why compare Olivia and/with Amanda? Why? They are two different characters and in my opinion just as needed on the show. I love the fresh breeze Rollins has brought to the show and, even though I love him with Munch too, she's brought out a really good side in Fin.
I like Olivia, as a character she's okay but I'm kinda tired of her. Warren did, or at least trying to, evolve her a little I guess and it's working so so imo. I grew tired of Liv (or perhaps the show) around season 10 or so when the Stabler & Benson show got boring. It got predictable. The new squad members brought new (needed!) air into the show and it's now back to being my fave show. Liv with Nick is sorta new but I wish she would interact more with Rollins. Not that female detectives necessarily have to bond with each other but it would be something new to see Liv being friendly with a female (that's not a victim. Rollins' been a victim but I think it's awesome how she never acts as a victim and I hope it stays that way. Ritalin seems to work for her *lol*).
Anywho, I could go on and on, all I really wanted to say - why can't we just stop comparing them and just let viewers like who they like!?
@ Petra
ReplyDeleteI usually do not make comparisons between Benson and Rollins . I like both . And I think they are both talented actresses . Who was initially compared this person called Alex . And calling Olivia Benson boring and without depth. To exalt a character need not demote another.
I , unlike you , never tire of Olivia Benson . Honestly , I do not understand SVU without Olivia Benson . She was , is and always will be the heart and soul of SVU . Even when Eliot was in place , Olivia was always the stronger side team . She is very intelligent , has an extraordinary empathy with the victims and is obsessed with justice.
I do not agree with you when you say that Olivia is not friendly with Rollins .
Not she who called Rollins " the flower of Georgia ? " The two together work very well . In fact , Olivia is very good team . Be with whoever. It is just and noble .
Lately I recognize that the character is kind of shady . I understand perfectly : she's been through , what she suffered , it was not easy . But it will overcome , and yet out of this a better person .
For more boring it is, it still has many fans . Mariska was named the People's Choice Awards for the fourth time as favorite actress of television. She should not win, but it is a process of recognition. she deserves
When i read this i was just so damn excited. I love rollins in her personal and normal episodes and i would be really happy if we could see her more often on the show. To be honest i never watched svu before kelli and danny came in so yes they are fantanstic newcomers and i never disliked them. I like the whole cast but kelli is my favourite so please never ever make the idea to replace kelli with someone else
