Matt Mitovich of TVLine.com reports that fans should not expect Law & Order Criminal Intent to be resurrected by USA Network. Mitovich states, “Asked if there was any chance for a semi-miraculous save and Season 11 order, given the warm welcome that returning regulars Vincent D’Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe received, USA co-president Jeff Wachtel answered, “No — and this is said with respect for the show, respect for Dick [Wolf], and most significantly with respect to the audience.” " Read the full story here at TVLine.com: No Reprieve for Law & Order: CI: 'It Was a Good Series Finale,' Says USA Network Boss

I kind of feel that when they spent the entire 8 ep run saying "final season" and "series finale", you're kind of beating a dead horse at this point. And if anyone was shocked at this announcement, I mean...you must have had a hard time following L&O (especially CI because it was the most intricate of the bunch) because they've been saying straight the entire time in every promo.
ReplyDeleteShouldn't people just be happy that they came in knowing that it was the end and had a chance to have a proper good-bye? I mean, they brought back VDO and KE and basically did 8 episodes just to make the fans happy. And VDO and KE got a chance to thank their crew fully and thank their fans via twitterchats during episodes. A rarity in TV world. And really, a classy goodbye.
I'm excited about VDO's new movies; which look awesome, and lets him become the mildly frightening characters that I knew him as before I found out about LOCI. KE is a talented actress and will no doubt be seen more often on the stage. LOCI will live forever in reruns and DVDs folks.
ReplyDeleteI'm sad...
ReplyDeleteOf course it's sad but as expected.
ReplyDeleteAs for USA network, there's less of a reason for me to watch it.I am not impressed by all those cookie cutter shows they have that show a lack of innovation and a lack of promise.
I do wish Vincent and Katherine well.
I consider them as my heroes and there will always be a place in my heart for them.
I never doubted that this was the final season and an ending for USA.They brought it back out of respect for the show and its fans. They never pretended otherwise, so i never thought otherwise.
ReplyDeleteI was just so happy to get these quality episodes. That kind of closure is rare for American TV and suggests how special it was as a show..to everyone involved.
So I dont feel anger or regret etc.I just feel deeply appreciative.
At least they got an entirely decent and appropriate sendoff. Goren and Eames went out with pride and dignity. :)
ReplyDeleteI think it was a great final season. I can see with Dick Wolf's comments why people might have hoped for more so let's not keep that in mind when being catty.
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for a great final eight episodes. Hope to see more great things from all involved in other projects as they move on.
I figured once they sold all the props and broke down the sets there was no way it was coming back. I'm sorry to be right about that but better to go out on a high note than on a low one - like season 9 certainly was.
I'm just happy that there weren't any politics that I know of that went down before LOCI was cancelled. To have a show cancelled because of politics is horrible. SVU is our only hope now...
ReplyDeleteSVU is OK, but it pales beside CI and the last three seasons of the original L&O, which trumped SVU's writing and acting by miles.
