Law & Order UK Series 3 Promotional Photos

Reports on Law & Order UK Series 3 are sketchy but it’s rumored that the show will be returning to UK television sometime in the fall. NBCU has released some promotional photos for this new season; the cast is as follows:

Bradley Walsh: DS Ronnie Brooks
Jamie Bamber: DS Matt Devlin
Ben Daniels: Senior Crown Prosecutor James Steel
Freema Agyeman: Prosecutor Alesha Phillips
Harriet Walter: DI Natalie Chandler
Bill Paterson: CPS Director George Castle

There appear to be no plans to air Law & Order UK in the US at this time, which is a pity. I saw part of the first season and I thought it was very well done. Enjoy the photos!

Law & Order: UK is well done. The actors are of the top caliber. I'm glad it's coming back for a series 3. I bought the DVD set (which combines series 1 & 2) at Target and I absolutely love it.

Hope this latest series is a major improvement on the first two!

Anyone else find it ironic how people keep getting at Dick Wolf for creating LOLA saying that it belongs in NYC and what not...and yet we have Law and Order: UK which takes place in another country entirely...

Like cjspooks, I bought the Target DVD of the first two series - haven't watched it yet but thanks to a friend of mine, I was able to watch the episodes as they originally aired in the UK. I thought the shows were good. Granted, the episodes were taken from original Mothership scripts, but they also did a nice job of changing them just enough to make them unique. Plus, the English criminal justice system is different than ours, so that in itself led to differences. I'm really looking forward to the next series.

Esaul, I chuckled at your comment because you do make a good point. But the UK series also has a "gritty" feel like the original. I think one concern we all have about LOLA is that being in LA it'll lose its grittiness and the very feel that made it L&O to begin with.

Thanks for the update All Things...

Um, no the UK series isn't as gritty as the original in my opinion! As a Brit, I still prefer the NY original. The casting is better. Although I have enjoyed the interplay between the detectives, Freema Agyeman is wooden and Ben Daniels is trying too hard to be Sam Waterston. But maybe it has improved since the second episode (only watched the first two)...

gahks, if you can find a way to watch the 7th episode, called "Alesha," you should. It's based on the Mothership episode "Helpless" (3x6). Freema did an outstanding job portraying the doctor's victim. Even though I knew the story from the Mothership version, L&O UK did a nice job of changing it just enough to seem fresh.

It'll be interesting to see how the show grows as they come up with original episodes. At least I think this new run of shows is supposed to be based on original stories. Anyone know for sure?

They've technically already tried "sexifying" the franchise with Conviction...and it didn't really work...so I'm not so sure how LOLA will play out. But I'll watch anyway. So want to see UK and the French version of Criminal Intent.

I hope they don't split this series into two like they did with the last one. UK networks generally do that, and when they were doing a simulcast of it here in Canada, we saw all the Series 1 and 2 episodes as one season. I don't think I've heard of a series where another network in another country finishes one country's series before the original one does.

On the flip side, we are also 9 months behind the Brits on Corrie...
