The Hollywood Reporter states that NBC has renewed Law & Order for its 20th season. This would tie the record currently held by “Gunsmoke” for the longest running drama on TV. They also reported that 16 episodes have been ordered. But, they did not give any information at this time on what date the show will actually begin its 20th season, or if there will be any cast changes. (The current cast is Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson, Sam Waterston, S. Epatha Merkerson, Alana De La Garza and Linus Roache.

ReplyDeleteHere you go. And it's on Fridays at 8:00 PM. Yeah....
Best I can tell from reading coverage on zap2it, L&O is on the fall schedule, not as a mid-season replacement. Has anyone heard if the show got a full season commitment, or something like 13-16 shows? The zap2it story doesn't say.
ReplyDeleteI read somewhere that it was only a 16 episode commitment, but I doubt NBC would only want that few(?) L&O's. Then again, that's just my opinion. Since NBC always fills their huge gaps with Law and Orders I would figure new ones would be better then reruns.
ReplyDeleteI have a feeling that poor Connie may be doomed. Most ADAs on Law & Order: TOS only last three years. Think about it; Robinette lasted three, so did Kincaid, Ross was merely two, Carmichael had the full three, still not sure how she did it...but Southerlyn lasted three-and-a-half, poor Borgia managed just one-and-a-half, and Connie rounds out with a full trio of years. Do the math, the average is just under thirty-six months. Numerology works for television too!
