There has been a scheduling change for the franchise for the Week of March 22. The episode of Law & Order SVU titled “Hell” which was scheduled to air on March 24 has been shifted to March 31. This change was made to accommodate a televised press conference for President Barack Obama.

But, we still have new episodes for Law & Order , and Law & Order UK. Here is the episode information:

Law & Order “Anchors Away” Air Date March 25, 2009
THE MURDER OF A TELEVISION REPORTER LEADS THE DETECTIVES TO A MAJOR HEDGE FUND FRAUD

While investigating the murder of television reporter Dawn Prescott (Guest Star Audra Blaser), detectives Lupo (Jeremy Sisto) and Bernard (Anthony Anderson) discover that she was involved in a love triangle involving another reporter at the station, Joe Lee. This leads them to another suspect, veteran anchor Joe Delaney (Guest Star David Rasche), who was threatened by the success of his younger co-workers and may have hacked into their email to gain an advantage. As they search for the killer, the detectives uncover that Dawn was working on a major story surrounding a huge hedge fund fraud and there may be a connection with the recent murder of Fred Decker, a whistle-blower who filed an SEC suit against a hedge fund owner. Show Cast: Sam Waterston, Alana De La Garza, Jeremy Sisto, Anthony Anderson, S. Epatha Merkerson, Linus Roache

  1. This episode is based on an case I am extremely familiar with as it is based
what happened at CBS-Owned KYW-TV (also known as "CBS3") here in Philadelphia
with former co-anchors Larry Mendte and Alycia Lane, one that has a ton of
twists and turns all its own (and before Mr. Mendte went to KYW-TV, he had been
on NBC-Owned WCAU-TV (NBC10) here in Philly after being one of the original
    anchors of Access Hollywood).

In the real life case, it started in the fall of 2007 in New York when cops were
working on a scene, delaying traffic behind that and Ms. Lane (who was with her
beau, a radio personality named Booker who has worked in both New York and
Philadelphia) got out and had an altercation with some of the cops, as I recall
her calling one of them a dyke that led to her firing from KYW-TV. Charges in
that real life case against here were eventually dropped, and in that case Ms.
Lane still has a massive lawsuit against CBS over that case.

That was only the beginning as it turned out. Last June, Mr. Mendte was fired
from KYW-TV himself when it was discovered that he had been hacking into her
e-mail and illegally reading them, apparently out of jealousy over Ms. Lane. A
couple of days after he was fired, Mr. Mendte was indicted by the US Attorney's
Office over such. Mendte then admitted last November 24 that he did wrong in
that case and is now under house arrest while ordered to undergo computer
monitoring and a psychological evaluation, while also paying a $5,000 fine. You
can read about the real case by going to:

Another angle in this in real life is that Mr. Mendte's wife, Dawn Stensland,
anchors across town here in Philly on FOX-Owned WTXF-TV (Channel 29, or FOX
29/FOX Philadelphia as it is now known).

It will be very interesting to see how this episode goes as this may not be the
only "franchise" episode involving Ms. Lane given her altercation in New York
that pre-dated what we found out about what Mr. Mendte did to her.
