Here’s the episode information for the October 14 new episode of Law & Order SVU, titled “Swing.” Some reported spoilers: Stabler’s daughter Kathleen gets in big trouble when she breaks into someone’s home, reportedly to just take a shower. But she’s also getting involved in drugs and sex, and her odd behavior raises questions. We will also get to meet Stabler’s mom, played by Ellen Burstyn, who seems to have mental issues of her own (meaning Stabler’s mom, not Ellen). And apparently it’s Stabler who hands over some key evidence that could actually help convict his own daughter, and Kathleen goes a little nutty in the courtroom over the matter.
My recap and review of “Swing “ can be found here.
Law & Order SVU “Swing” Air Date October 14, 2008
DETECTIVE ELLIOT STABLER'S (CHRIS MELONI) JOB AND PERSONAL LIFE BECOME INTERTWINED WHEN HE DISCOVERS HIS DAUGHTER, KATHLEEN STABLER (GUEST STAR ALLISON SIKO), IS THE SUSPECT.
A young woman is found trespassing in a family’s home, and Detective Elliot Stabler (Chris Meloni) is called in to catch the intruder. The trespasser’s wallet leads Stabler to a surprising suspect, his daughter, Kathleen Stabler (guest star Allison Siko). Detective Stabler is shocked to find his daughter has fallen in love with the kind of crowd he spends his days condemning. With his family life at stake, Stabler must decide how far he will go to save Kathleen, even turning to his estranged mother, Bernadette Stabler (guest star Ellen Burstyn), for help. In order to save Kathleen, Detective Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) knows that she must step in to help her friend and partner before things take a turn for the worst. Also starring: Richard Belzer (Detective John Much), Dann Florek (Captain Donald Cragen), Ice-T (Detective Odafin Tutuola), Michaela McManus (A.D.A Kim Greylek), Tamara Tunie (Dr. Melinda Warner), and B.D. Wong (Dr. George Huang).

There should be a drinking game. Drink when Stabler goes nuts. Double drink if his daughter goes nuts. Triple drink if she knocks over the courtroom table.
ReplyDeleteI was hopping you could help me - I only watch the reruns... WHAT happened to Casey, and why is Fin mad at Elliot.
ReplyDeleteWelovebees: It all happened in the season finale, "Cold".
ReplyDeleteStabler thought Fin tipped off Det. Chester Lake to skip out on them but rather than ask Fin himself, Stabler got Fin;s phone records. Fin was very upset at Stabler for the lack of trust and the fact that he didn't even ask Fin to his face.
Casey lied about lab results during a trial.
The full story can be found in my May 14 recap of "Cold" at this link:

Hope this helps!
Does anyone know the name (real or on the show) of the lawyer representing Stabler's daughter in this episode (Swing)?
ReplyDeleteIt was CCH Pounder.
ReplyDeleteWhere can I watch the full episode of swing on the internet. as I have stupid tme warner which dosen't get nbc anymore. and nbc dosen't have full episodes.
ReplyDeleteNBC doesn't air full episodes of SVU anywhere that I know of. There are plenty of places that offer them - but most of them are unauthorized or illegal copies from torrent sites, and I don't advocate or endorse any of them.
ReplyDeleteMy boss has tasked me with locating a video copy of the "Swing" episode of L&O SVU.
ReplyDeleteDo you know of where I might locate a copy?
As I mentioned in my comment right above yours, NBC doesn't air full episodes of SVU anywhere that I know of. There are plenty of places that offer them on-line such as torrent sites- but most of them are unauthorized or illegal copies, and I don't advocate or endorse any of them.
ReplyDeleteIf you do a Google search for SVU torrents you may find something, but many torrent sites are "members only" or there are fees. And many aren't authorized copies of the show, which again, I don't endorse or approve.
You can download episodes of SVU for $1.99 at Amazon.com.
ReplyDeleteThanks Melanie for the info. I had a hard time finding it at first, but eventually discovered their video on demand section. It's $1.99 per episode.
ReplyDeleteI only thought Amazon had the older episodes so it is good to know they are showing current season episodes!
The second cop who arrests Elliot's daughter is my real life friend, Peter O'Mara. Hurray!
ReplyDeleteSwing is the best episode I've seen. Good writing, excellent acting. Award material.
ReplyDeleteI just want to know the name of the song stabler s daughter was singing in the shower
ReplyDelete@jennylynn - this is an old sea song called “The Eddystone Light” which is about the Eddystone Lighthouse
