Wasn't a fan of the last 2 eps- nothing 'bad' abt them, just not my cup of tea. The last one especially- I fast forwarded thru so much of the ep I can't say that I saw it. Tried to re-watch it this weekend and found myself doing the same thing. So still don't know what it is abt and can for sure say now that it's a pass for me as far as holding my interest. This ep though- right up my alley in terms of the things I enjoy abt this show so for that reason it was a better one for me.
The scene in the hospital w Benson being compassionate w a reluctant Penny was awesome. For a show on for 27 years it could hv easily been a scene we've experienced millions of times before to the point of it almost losing meaning. This one, the one w the comatose patient, they slow me down and make me pay better attn
I knew a therapist who would would say "hi", in the same kind way Benson did, when you finally made eye contact after some time of avoiding. I loved that touch to the scene. It's one of those moments that would be insignificant to some while incredibly powerful to other viewers.
The topic of AI is very timely and was explored quite well. Something that struck me while watching- in the early 2000s ppl were often saying, "It's difficult to know if X is guilty because we simply don't hv enough technology to prove it." Now we're saying, "It's difficult to know if X is guilty because there is far too much technology and the 'proof' might be fake." Archaic technology, advanced technology- still hard to trust an accuser- that part remains constant. It played out that there was in fact no accuser here but I still noticed that challenge for coming fwd, even if u have "proof."
The case as it was laid getting a guilty verdict was a bit of a stretch. The judge setting it aside helped to bring it back to reality but only after we got to enjoy the fantasy of holding the creator accountable for not maintaining high ethical standards in his business. It gave us the world we want to root for without getting too swept away from reality
Loved Bruno in the ep. He felt familiar to the character I know. So far, to me, this season he has been coming across as a rubber stamp of your avg tv cop. I recognized him in this ep
Curry!! I continue to be happy for her and so I continue to note said happiness lol She is a legitimate part of the squad now- competent and effective. I'm just so happy to watch her be a "for real" part of the team.
I'm quite happy that Amanda's return was handled in such a chill manner. I was expecting her to be part of the case. I thought, "AI case and she works for the Intelligence Unit. They'll need her on the case." I was looking fwd to it but actually enjoyed the version they gave us better esp because it meant I hadn't predicted how things were going to play out
Overall, a really well-written, well-executed ep. The guest actors did great. I believed them all and was able to stay within the headspace of the story and I love when that happens. The cast was brilliant too. For me, who loves the "I see you and I'm holding space for you" moments the hospital scene was a standout for me. And I especially like when we get some variety in the affect of the victim, and it's not solely sobbing or angry outbursts but that we can get this type of shutdown/withdrawn response too- or "I'm totally fine." I like when we get to see the different ways a person might respond to a crisis.

Decent episode, right up until they tried to prosecute that tech CEO, I figured the judge would set aside the verdict.
I agree, it was fairly obvious that was coming!
I think it was a great episode! I love this season so far.

That's all for my latest TLDR
