Regina Hall Joins Law & Order LA Cast

Several sources are reporting that Regina Hall has joined the cast of Law & Order: LA. She will play ADA Eva Price, who was previously described as a “brainy and drop dead gorgeous assistant prosecutor [who] doesn’t take crap from anyone." An updated character profile from TV Guide lists the following: "Morales's second chair, she's an African American who grew up in the upper middle class LA area of Baldwin Hills. Her father's furniture store was burned down in the King riots. Though she has a healthy skepticism of the LAPD's treatment of minorities, she believes the anarchy she saw was worse than anything that the LAPD might do. She's right of center on law and order issues compared to Morales."

For those of you keeping track, here’s the cast so far:

Alfred Molina - Deputy DA Morales

Terrence Howard – Deputy DA (no name given) splitting duties with Morales (Update August 14, 2010 - various unofficial reports say his name is Jonas "Joe" Dekker.)

Dick Wolf: Law & Order Officially Dead

Dick Wolf told attendees at the Television Critics Association press tour today that it is official – Law & Order won’t be returning for a 21st season.

He was quoted as saying “I will confirm that it has moved to the history books…We’re extremely disappointed, but that’s business, that’s life. Every [show] is born under a death sentence. They just don’t tell you the date of execution.”

Dick is now turning his focus on to Law & Order LA – and hopefully so will fans of Law & Order.

Terrence Howard Joins Cast for Law & Order: LA

Several sources are reporting that Terrence Howard has joined the cast of Law & Order: Los Angeles, and will be splitting the duties of Deputy District Attorney with Alfred Molina. The name of Howard’s character was not named – stay tuned. (Update August 14, 2010 - various unofficial reports say his name is Jonas "Joe" Dekker.)

So far, no women have been named to the cast...I suppose the “casting couch” is getting a real workout.

Law & Order LA Names “Fame” Premiere Episode

TV Guide reports that the premiere episode of Law & Order: Los Angeles will be titled “Fame”. UPATE August 4, 2010: The premiere episode of Law & Order LA has now been titled “Hollywood.”

They also state that “In keeping with the brand's ripped-from-the-headlines tradition, LO:LA will debut with a story that sounds similar to that of the Burglar Bunch, the rambunctious kiddies accused of targeting celebrities like Paris Hilton and Orlando Bloom.”

I’ve also heard that the show is tentatively set to begin filming in July 22, so hopefully we will also hear more casting news soon. Stay tuned! (Update 7/16/10: various sources report that the start of filming has been moved to August 2.)

Law & Order UK Series 3 Promotional Photos

Reports on Law & Order UK Series 3 are sketchy but it’s rumored that the show will be returning to UK television sometime in the fall. NBCU has released some promotional photos for this new season; the cast is as follows:

Bradley Walsh: DS Ronnie Brooks
Jamie Bamber: DS Matt Devlin
Ben Daniels: Senior Crown Prosecutor James Steel
Freema Agyeman: Prosecutor Alesha Phillips
Harriet Walter: DI Natalie Chandler

There appear to be no plans to air Law & Order UK in the US at this time, which is a pity. I saw part of the first season and I thought it was very well done. Enjoy the photos!
